Might as well put a few sand traps and a water hazard out there too
They had a mountain in centerfield in Houston until recently. I understand being unique or having a novelty, but how did that make it through the first discussion much less MLB's approval process. "We're going to put a 30 degree incline - AND A FLAGPOLE - in the field of play because we don't think Ken Griffey Jr. gets hurt often enough." "Sounds good."

They got rid of that? Did anyone ever run into the flagpole?

Balls going into the ivy is not a new thing, just to Cal Ripken and Ron Darling because they are dumbasses. "Well in Baltimore we used to have balls bounce on the warning track and go into stands." No ####, that happens everywhere.

There have been outfielders who tried the hands up in the spring when the ivy hasn't grown in yet and you can clearly see the ball sitting in the vines. I think I have seen the batted ball go in and two balls fall out of the ivy before.

Tal's Hill is back again for 2016, fyi. Would take too long for them to remove by the season I guess.

No one runs into the pole as far as I know, but there have been some rather hilarious "climbing" techniques while trying to catch a ball. Generally they're on hands and knees by the time they get near the pole.

I saw a movie like this once. I think it came via ForrestMail.

####. Ex wife just diagnosed with a tumor on an ovary Monday and went to Seattle Cancer Center for surgery yesterday. Haven't heard from her since she went in. She asked me not to say anything to my daughter so she can wait for pathology and talk to her. Roverkid is asking questions because she's supposed to be with ex tonight. Hoping for good news.

Sorry, brother. When is that trip to Portland again?

I for one would watch far more baseball if there were obstacles in the outfield.
 A family member of mine has said the same thing for years. And as I've found during the NL playoffs, to my surprise and regret, just because Cal Ripken doesn't know about something doesn't make it unusual. Now why Ron Darling, who made a few visits to Wrigley in his career I believe, acted like that was some new thing is another question entirely.

I may have to call it quits.
1. Sheik went through some sort of odd transformation over the last 10 years that is completely unexplainable. I hope this is just some sort of weird shtick, but honestly, he's not the same funny, cool guy he was in 2003.

2. Tim considers "Blinded by the Light" to be one of rock's penultimate tunes.

3. Consider the sources.

4. ????

5. Profit.

If only there was some way for me to profit from being a judgmental tool.

 Surprised Tanner didn't seize on *this*. Good to know that tim thinks "Blinded by the Light" is one of rock's next to last tunes, though. :P
