2nd interview with a firm in Seattle today...informed that there will be 2 more, with one in Portland, before they will make an offer. #####es.
What happened to the place that you talked to about six weeks(?) ago? Sounded like that wouldn't have been a good move for you but wondering if they figured out they needed to sweeten the deal.I'm continuing my semi-serious search. The job in Goshen, IN was (thankfully) offered to someone just as the recruiter tried to submit me (different recruiter so she had no idea), so that's off the table. Never heard another peep from Milwaukee job.Today I had phone interviews with companies in Stamford, CT and Phoenix. The Phoenix job is fantastic but I actually feel under-qualified for it, plus the recruiter told me they were going to look for a local candidate first. :kicksrock: Stamford one could be of interest but I'd have to know more. I also have a final (I think) screen with a company on Jan. 25 that would allow me to move back to Chicago and work mostly remotely, which would be extremely tempting. Have been trading phone calls for two days with a recruiter regarding a promising job in the NY/NJ area and also am at the beginnings of an evaluation with a company in the DC area.
Make darn sure you visit Stamford before taking a job there. Last I knew it was the ####tiest hole of all #### holes.

As an added bonus to moving back to Chicago, we evidently no longer get snow here and winter has been cancelled. It is supposed to be in the high 50s this weekend.

102 fever 3 days. Coughing up brown stuff. Sweated through a shirt last night like I was working out in July. Wash your hands people. Flu is nasty. There have been more cases in PA just in the last week of December than all of last flu season total.

Go to az just for the potential woz-off.

When the waiter took my 20 bill to pay a 14.20 bill, was I correct to respond incredulously when he asked if I needed chafe?
Where were you?
Zingers at bee cave
Yeah...no. You need change. Let me guess, he brought back eighty cents and a five dollar bill? That's always my favorite.1. Did Jesse contact you as promised?2. Will you be around this afternoon? I'm delivering a build to south Congress and thought I'd swing over since I don't think I've seen the place completely and totally finished. It's been a whie.

Begging for an 80-cent tip at this point, no?

I wozzed off this morning.

Did you get a flu shot?

I was on my way to a film at the theater there and they were walking distance. Actually the wings were very good and beer is beer and all waiters/bartenders are pretty much whores (sorry Homer), so it was not so bad, really. I was just offended that he assumed his lackadaisical service warranted a thirty five percent tip.I've spoken with Jesse a couple times. As you know my needs are vast and very complex. He working on trying to find some solutions.I will pretty much be around all day. I do have a few errands, just give me a heads up when you'll be in the neighborhood and I'll make a point to be here.

eta: he was smart enough to bring five singles and 80 cents. Had he pulled the five dollar bill trick, his tip would have been 80 cents. As it was I gave him 2.80. If he had not been so presumptive, it would have been 3.80

After the movie last night I stopped in a bar that also had Italian food. The owner was at the bar working on books . He told the bartender that he wanted to get some casserole dishes to start serving lasagna. I interjected that I thought that was a bad idea, it reminded me of bad, old-school Italian served that way and also, whenever I ordered it, everyone at the table was finished eating by the time it cooled off enough for me to eat. I guess he liked my advice, as he offered me a pizza and I declined, he gave me a card for a free pie next visit. It looked pretty good- Tony C's coal-fired Pizza.

Oh, just the first one. She unwrapped the proposal today at my mom's house.

On the bright side, the ring I used is extremely Tanner-friendly.
It only works half the year?
It contains an emergency dose of Metamucil?
It talks extra loud so the elderly can hear it?
It displays the time using an endless series of animated cat gifs.
It has the Jeopardy theme as a dinner alarm that goes off at 4:30 everyday?
It comes with its own pair of Depends?
It beeps and says "FIGHT TIME" any time you're near a 7-11 parking lot?
It hasn't been cleaned since it touched Ben Stein?
It frequents interstate rest stop glory holes?

There are days when I just need to be put in a cage. Today is one of those days. I can't even blame PMS anymore.

Happy Endings may be my favorite comedy nowadays
Haven't seen this season at all, but lived the first two. However, Elisha Cuthbert and company will probably be on the chopping block soon. :(
Happy Endings is great, but also doomed...they are double episoding weeks now (Sun and Tues)Hip Hop Santa dance off from their XMas episode was awesome:wub: Cuthbert

No. But my wife did and she has the same symptom. The dr today said the flu shot has been largely ineffective this year.

Especially for those who didn't get one.

Just got back from Vegas.I held the dice for just under an hour and only made one point (10). I've never seen that before in my life. Loved the overexcited Asian stick man who kept yelling "FIVE-FIVE!" FIVE-FIVE! When the point finally came, it came hard. He just about crapped his pants. Had to have been close to $1000 on the hard 10 with many of the bets 2 ways. Kept hitting me in the arm.

Nice work. Nothing beats the energy that builds at a craps table when the shooter's got the dice for a while.

I read that wrong at first. I was very confused at how you made a Hard Five.

Did golfsino just go down for everyone, or just me?
Who was she again?
I don't know but I'd like to meat her.
:lmao: My BIL gave my younger son a bunch of old baseball, football and basketball cards. Apparently, my son wants to start collecting. He asked my BIL 'Hey, do you have any Babe Ruths?' :lmao: Anyhow, we got home and I looked through some of them with him. Guess who I found???? :excited:
Babe Ruth?

Truth. The strain out there slamming 42 states right now apparently is immune to this years shot though. Be careful out there because this is miserable.
