I think GM already mentioned here or in one of his newsletters, but you should all think of joining the NFL pickem pool here. Derek's been around a long time here and I've interacted with him several times, i.e., I don't think he'll steal all the entry fees.
And I fully support SLB's pool, as well. You should all join that one, too.SLB - You never said we were exclusive. I'm not sure if I'm ready to commit to a single wagering pool at this point in my life.
:lmao: I wasn't looking for that, I was looking to be paid.
I don't have to pay for it. I thought we had something real between us. You can't put a dollar amount on that. I do have some $10 helium balloon bouquet coupons (only good in Beaumont, TX), I could sent you, as a gesture of appreciation.
Coupons always work too.

Oh by the way those who know baseball will get what I'm talking about here. The game we went to at Yankee Stadium was all set up so we were going to get to see Mariano Rivera enter the game to Enter Sandman. We were pumped. Then Jon Rauch gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th because he sucks. Mad.
That sucks. I was there Monday sitting here with many of these during a 11-10 homerfest that saw Cano hit a grand slam, Montero get his first two HRs, and Mo get a (nervous) save.

Best seats evah for $81 a pop.

Serious question, others feel free to chime in:John Sterling: he's a poof, right?

No idea. Wikipedia doesn't think so, and they're always right.
He is married and the father of 4, including a set of triplets, born in 2000.

No more than any other Yankee homer. :coffee: TUP>hi

STBX signed all of our uncontested divorce papers, which will get filed on the 15th. 90 days later, we'll be official. Should be almost 3 years to the day from when the whole thing blew up.

Ugh, the end is in sight. Mine was about as easy as it gets and it still took 8 months from the time I got her out of the house.

Mine was uncontested as well. Still took 9 months. Never had to go to court once or see her face a single time though. Which made it easier. Even got the engagement ring back

Rumor, on 56th and 8th? If so, been there a ton of timesLived around the corner form there for a bit
That would be it. We first went to some English pub (new castle? old castle? something castle?) then went to Rumor and were there most of the night and then finished up at something like Rosy O'Grady's.

Both are cool places

We don't lack for bars here

Most importantly, how surprised was your dad and how much fun did y'all have?

Those are them. All were fun times, including Rumor. My dad was completely shocked because he was convinced we were going to L.A. because both the Gophers and Twins were out there last weekend. When we told him Boston he was pretty happy, then, when we realized it was impossible to have a conversation and try to keep the rest of the trip a secret, he was completely floored when we told him about the rest of it. An awesome, awesome time and I don't think I'm exaggerating to say that as a father/son trip for three baseball nerds it was the trip of a lifetime. Also the best thing you told me is when I asked what bars we should check out you said, "walk down the street, go into a bar, if you like it stay, if not, go. we have plenty of bars here." Took all the pressure off worrying about trying to find the right place and how to get there or something, and it sounds like we picked 3 good choices. Awesome.

Plus at the place across the street from Rumor my dad got hit on by an old gay dude who wouldn't leave him alone. so that was fun.

Oh, and also last night when my parents had the kids and my wife and I were both pretty drunk I somehow audio-recorded an 18 minute sex romp on my blackberry. So there's that.

17 minutes of begging?
Surprisingly no. And weren't even on the couch. Sub-couch. Living room floor.
WHOA! You guys swingers or something?
Probably just too drunk to move any further.

Mike's.

SLB, I received an e-mail that I need to enter my picks in your football pool. I don't think I've sent you any money--am I in this thing? If so let me know where the $$$ go. I look forward to winning a week when I'm on autopick again.

Sounds awesome Frosty

WOuld love to do something like this with my Dad, but he refuses to ever get on an airplane. Might have to plan an East Coast train trip.

GOOD GOD.

I pretty much just had to yell at my wife over the phone to NOT buy a car.

She wanted to go look at cars tonight but I came home from work beat as hell. She went anyway. A couple of hours ago she test drove this used Impala and brought it by the house. I told her it was a pretty decent deal if they dropped it a couple of grand. She got back to the dealer and they pulled the old "it's already marked down".

So then she calls to tell me she's looking at some Kia Sportage. I go to the dealer's website and check it out. Looked clean and had a good carfax but had tiny engine. I mean just puny. So I text her "that car has no power. you would hate driving it up and down the 99".

She doesn't reply. I call her. She's in the middle of doing paper work. WTF.

I finally got through to her with "IF I WAS STANDING THERE AT THE LOT I WOULD NOT BUY THAT CAR.

I'm sure I'm now a huge jerk.

Next time I'll go with her...and make her wait in the car.

She just called back: Operation Hamster Wheel has been aborted.

Told her that we would go look tomorrow for as long as it took.

Sometimes I think I'm married to a 12 year old...but not in a good way.

I don't think I've ever told the story about us car shopping about 5 years ago and I almost punched the salesman and my wife...not in that order.

Useless John Sterling trivia: Larry Bird scores 60 points against the Hawks in 1985 in a regular season game that was played in New Orleans and John Sterling did the play-by-play.

Why bother recording it if you're not going to share it with me.
I'm glad the Subscriber Contest deadline is tonight. I've done little else for the last two weeks. :nerd:
oh crap thanks for this
Note the new feature where you can give your entry a nickname. In case you're considering it, "Amanda H. Fan" is taken.

So that explains it.

So the guy from Linkin Park goes in the second round of the Rap Draft.

That is some ScottNorwood type drafting right there.
