That's what they said about Greg Louganis.

So I have tickets to the Bruins tonight as well as limo transportation. The guy organizing called me and said 'hey, we don't want to bring the limo all the way intown to get you if we don't have to, can you meet us at the commuter lot out by the mall?'

I figure that makes sense; that way they don't have to come off the highway by much. Then I realize I have a lunch meeting out by the mall today anyway. O happy day! It appears God has a plan for me, and it includes having a 2-beer lunch and then stretching it out to a multiple beer afternoon at Applebee's or some other non-FFA approved mall chain until the limo picks me up around 3. Also, the whole trip is expensed so nothing out of pocket.

Did I mention I may meet up with Gadzooks and his munchkin as well? T&P accepted. :banned:
Not an awful way to spend your Tuesday. As to the bolded, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with sitting at the Applebees bar with a cold beer. So long as they have ESPN on TV, some decent looking ferns working the restaurant and a nice selection of brews on tap, there's nothing wrong with killing time here at all.

Just don't order the Bloomin Onion

So is anybody going to explain this Zack Morris shtick to me or do I need to start reading that thread from page 1?
not really anything to explain.Frosy loves the show Saved By The Bell. Zack Morris is a character from the show played by Mark Paul Gosselaar. He drafted the guy in a timdraft and was disappointed by how low the judge ranked the pick.

that is one of the queerest things I've ever seen on here

My 11 year old is currently serving a one-day out of school suspension for cold-cocking a kid that I have come to find out has been bullying my son for the past year and a half. Was angry at first when I found out about this on Friday, but the more I find out about it, the more I'm glad my boy got a couple of really good shots in on this ####### punk.

He and the other bully, taking their cue from "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" created a game called the "IBJr. Touch". If IBJr. touched you or you touched him, no one would talk to you until you passed it on. About 1/2 of the weak minded 5th graders played along (to their credit, IBJr's friends did not abandon him and refused to participate). The teachers claim to have had no knowledge of this going on.

My son blindsided this kid when he attempted to taunt him further in art class and slammed his head into the desk, cutting his lip.
Good for him.
:goodposting: I had a situation with Cal last week. Thursday he came home from school and he showed me he had a pocket full of rocks " in case anybody tried to beat him up". I pressed him about it and he quickly changed the subject. Then on Friday after school he was outside playing and he came home really pissed off, actually enraged which in my family looks like this  , be cause three boys were pushing him around and throwing stuff at him. Oh yeah and they were all THREE YEARS OLDER than him. I told him to come inside but he hopped on his bike and took off towards the house they were at and said "no, I'm kicking their butts". He returned about 20 minutes later still  . I got down on one knee, looked him in the eye and asked him if he was alright. He replied "I got them back.". Then he threw his arms around me and whispered in my ear "they really hurt me daddy" and started bawling. I'
Hope he's ok GB, and it all ends well.

What is the draft about? Like, when we had the Russian Bride Draft, I understood what that was about. What's this one about? Just drafting anything? Anybody ever sit through the entire Justin Diamond Sex Tape?

I am both dreading, but somehow looking forward to the first time a bully pushes Ella beyond her breaking point. She's a great, friendly kid, but very passive. She tends to become sad rather than angry, but I've seen her rage surface a time or two. Considering that after this weekend she'll be a 2nd degree black belt, some day some dbag bully may get more than they bargained for.
Reminds me of my daughter when she was about 8-9. She hung around with 2 boys from the neighborhood and they would antagonize her and get to her. She never did anything. One winter day she snapped, and as I walked outside, she had both buys on the ground giving them face washes and pummeling them with her fists. Both boys managed to get free and kind of surrounded her, crying, yelling at each other to get her. Neither one did and they went home crying. One of the mothers called complaining about how my daughter beat up her son. His dad came over and told my daughter it was about time she defended herself, and good job.Things were different after that. There was a new sheriff in town.

I have no hope of remaining up to date on this thread over the next 60 days. Will someone please PM me a daily update with links to the can't miss posts? TIA
Maybe we should start a "Guide to GM's Thread About Nothing" or G2MTAN.Day 231- Shuke discusses sandwichs- GM discusses the effects of having post-nuclear glow in high school.- SLB gets drunk. SLB has sex with wife. Something comic happens during one or both.- Tanner stays home, drinks alone, posts reflections.- YSR moves things in her new house.- Dharmapunk tries to be funny. Almost succeeds.

Ummmmm...that could get a little repetitive.

It's Dustin Diamond.

it's like any TimDraft. They pick a group of categories up front and then make picks that fit those categories. Then they have someone judge each category by ranking the picks from top to bottom. Whoever's team winds up getting the most points from the judges wins. I guess. Mostly it's an excuse to argue about stuff.

If he starts drafting Jail House Brides, I will sue him so fast his non-practicing yamaka will spin. That idea is MINE.

Opted for On The Border. Cold beer

Espn AND NHL Network

No "ferns" but a very effeminate bartender named Brian who looks very clean.

At the risk of losing whatever board cred I have left....I actually like On The Border.

If you did a draft of only Saved By The Bell characters, I'm not sure that Zack Morris goes in the top three.

My SBTB draft:

1. Kelly Kapowski - the number one reason to watch

2. Jessie Spano - "I'm So Excited....I'm so scared" moment alone vaults her into the number two spot

3. Richard Belding - the Trent Dilfer of the show, he just drove the bus

4. Zack Morris - give him credit for starting with "Good morning Miss Bliss" and riding this character until "Saved By The Bell: The Rest Home Years"

5. A.C. Slater - points for rocking the mullet and afro look

6. Screech Powers - I hated this character more than anything

7. Stacey Carosi - a smokin' hot Leah Remini, the best episodes of the show involved her, just too few to move her up higher

8. Lisa Turtle - as annoying as Screech, only slightly more attractive

I bump Zack to 2 and move belding below Slater. Also move Screech to the bottom, but ahead of Tori.

I'd put Max, the magician owner of The Max, ahead of Lisa. She was awful.

When James was owner of the max he was the worst.

You are probably right, but then I can't use my "Zack Morris doesn't even go in the top three in his own show draft" joke.

Tori needs to be on this list, I'd put her & Stacey above Screech.

I have no idea what On The Border even is, although I assume it's some type of tex/mex chain restaurant.
That is precisely what it is. If I'm not mistaken, it started in Dallas in the 80's and we used to go to the one in Highland Park every once in a while. Now that it's a chain, it isn't nearly as awesome as it was when it was a stand-alone, but you know what? I like free chips and salsa with my really cold beer in a giant scooner.
