GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

I really need to quit this place, but don't know how. Way to busy at work, looking at a promising promotion here in the next few months. Home life is a little crazier now with 2 kids. It's been fun, but time to move on.Anyone with advice? Larry?
I've scaled back considerably. Clear your web history and tell yourself you're not going to surf the internet for two weeks at work. Build on that. It kind of worked for me.

peanut thread killed mojo. he checked in years later from a library.

this thread started to take a similar turn.

that fall give you amnesia?
Jesus. I'm telling you, my head hasn't been right since then. I had one of our CS reps send me some POD's yesterday and it was like I was trying to decipher Chinese or something. :goodposting:

If you go back through that Little Melvin thread, it's kind of a sad display. Lots of dignity was lost in there.Let's not go down that road again, people. Remember The Melvin.

I pretty much avoided that trainwreck. For those of us with dignity still in tact, what do we want to avoid from that one? What was the executive summary of that thread?

I'm pretty sure I had quit the FFA when that happened. I have no idea why I'm back.

crap. just got confirmation I'm starting an 8-week trial on Monday. held out hope that it might get kicked out or settle. no dice. I have to cancel a free vacation to hawaii including a two-day charter fishing trip my brother arranged.

see you in September.

Fixed?

Question for GM - as an ex-Portlander, I'm not up to speed anymore on the best venues at which to view Harmless Visual Stimuli. I'm thinking I should do better than Mary's Club and Club 205 when I'm in town next weekend, although Union Jacks wasn't bad last time I was there. Any suggestions?

I'm asking in this thread because I searched "Portland Strip", and the first thread that came up was this one. Should have known.

Where are you going to be staying? I can answer better from there.I hate "Mary's". I mean, I abhor, detest and loath it. Cramped, crowded and crappy. Union Jacks isn't too bad, but it's low brow for sure. Downtown in general is a poor place to hit the strip clubs. There's also Magic Gardens, but I wouldn't send Peens there.Top of the line talent can be found at Dolphin II and Stars, but both are out in Beaverton. Safari's on the east side is quite popular. The east side is littered with strip clubs, but I can't vouch for very many of them. I'd stay far far away from any clubs in the north east....Club Exotica is about the best you'll do there, but you might also get shot if you look at somebody the wrong way.The Acropolis is always a crowd pleaser because of the 3.99 steak special and 100 beers on tap. They make a great burger as well. The owner owns a cattle ranch, so he sells very cheap steaks and burgers, but rakes in on the beer sales and stripper fees. Always worth a stop, IMO. Great starting off point. If you wind up at the Sunset Strip for any reason whatsoever, text me and I'll walk over (through Coach's) to have a beer with you. Sunset Strip can be a fun little joint on a weekend night. There are VERY LITTLE rules there, and some really hot tail at times. The bartenders wear very little as well, which is an added bonus.Let me know where you are staying and I'll add a little more. Sounds like you'll be downtown, which doesn't offer too much in the way of quality. Ohhhhh, Sassy's is near downtown on the east side...that's a fun little spot. Very dirty and very small, but some really good looking gals. That's more of a hang out than a strip bar. It's like a dive bar that just happens to have strippers on stage.

Good stuff, thanks. Glad to hear the 'Crop is still going strong, I think that place saw the most usage of my fake id back in the early 90s, along with a now-extinct place dive called French's that was across from the Mission Theater. Never knew the reason for the cheap/good steaks and burgers, though.Never been a big Mary's fan either, but when you're staying downtown and trying to figure out what to do for the evening, it's seems like we always end up there for a pop or two.Unfortunately staying in the 'Couv, going to a wedding and reception up there. Might stay downtown Friday night, and have some buddies who live East Side.Just google mapped Sunset Strip, damn you're practically in my old neighborhood (I was near the other end of 119th). I don't remember that place being around though.Have you been to Club Rouge at all? Heard through the grapevine that a guy I went to high school with is part-owner, but don't know anything else about it.
