Drinking some excellent white wine tonight.AND I'M NOT MIXING.
I really don't get this. Are you saying you've never been to a wine tasting?
 :X :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
BTW, due to Mr. krista4's school schedule I don't see any way for us to do any mega-trips next year, so we're taking a few 7-10 day vacations instead, and we're pretty definite on making Oregon wine country and Portland one of them. What's the best time to come? June/July? Don't go out of town when we're there!
July/August is your best bet. :drive:

Jeebus. My neighborhood got hit by a tornado. Looks like a ####### warzone. Ripped giant 100 yr old trees right out of the sidewalk at the roots. Thankfully brick apartment buildings handle this stuff better than most regular houses do. Streets are parking lots. No cars can move anywhere due to downed branches, limbs, and, in some cases, entire trees. I need a drink or 12.

that was one freaky storm though... pitch black, hail, wind, frogs, the whole nine. still dumbfounded at the increasing amount of tornados hitting the area. kinda like that movie. except with tremendous upside instead of that guy.

Everything I know about NYC is from TV and the movies. How many muggers were killed?

So far the casualties have been:

3 muggers

1 tough talking soldier with a heart of gold nicknamed Brooklyn

2 Irish dockworkers

1 Pizza worker named Giuseppe

and a Jewish liberal Ivy league professor who was hit by a falling limb while crossing the street on his way to Starbicks for a latte after his ACLU meeting

Early July or the second half of August works great for my work schedule. Thanks for replying; thought this had been lost in the shuffle. The more I look at Oregon, the more excited I get about it.

Geez, glad you're safe. Weird to have a tornado so close the city and in that part of the country, yes?

Very strange...talking to old timers it was the worst storm in at least 50 yrs

I just put Bear on a plane to JFK to fetch logs out of the road.HTH TUPlease pick him up from airport.
:thumbup:Going to stand at arrival gate with a sign printed with "BEAR"
NO, GO TO BAGGAGE CLAIM!!!!Glad you're ok. Luckily, you don't live in a trailer park. Everytime we get a tornado warning here, I expect to see some redneck woman in her "nightgown" talking about that ternader dat dun took her trailer for a ride on the national news. I thought that idiot might be me one day, watching the weather guy and as he started talking about where the "area of circulation" was, I realized it was right above my neighborhood. I took Bear to the basement where, instead of going to the safest part of the basement, I walked to the door to see that "shur nuff, there's sum clouds spinnin round" above my house.***Hopefully it's clear I don't live in a trailer because I don't know of any with basements. That would make it a little hard to pull down the road across both lanes of traffic when I'm in a hurry.

It was definitely scary, but living in a brick apartment building made it much less so regarding my personal safety.

I can't imagine how scared I would have been in that degree of storm had rolled through and I was in a regular house.

PS: It's 7 hrs later and I still hear the cars and the cops/ambulances backed up...this clean up effort is going to take a while...

Good news though: work from home tomorrow!!!

One of the greatest guitar performances ever:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf0RaVlqFOw

Tom Morello and Bruce Sprinsteen doing Ghost of Tom Joad

Even if you are not a Bruce fan, check this out

What Morello does around the 6 minute mark is truly remarkable IMO
And thanks to this, I'm hip deep in a Springsteen Youtube run. I'm going with the "Hangin' On E Street" series of covers rather than actually diggin on Bruce though.Love Tegan and Sara doing Dancing in the Dark even though they only do half the song.

Based just on this clip, I want to marry her and have her babies.

I just had the weirdest dream.

There was a a library flooded with Coca-Cola while me, some obese man and Leslie Stahl observed the action from the little rectangular window leading into it. Then I start caressing the back of Leslie's neck and she looks at the obese guy and say's "beat it fatso" and I wake up.

HUGE fan of this, snagged it from youtube and slapped it on my IPOD and it is in heavy rotation

Morello's guitar cracks me up. First there is the 13 feet of guitar string juttng out the top, which is odd. Then there is the fact that he has strapped practically into his armpit, But the icing on the cake is the "Arm the Homeless" message on it

oh yeah, and it sounds AWESOME

If I had not discovered my love of male genitalia in college, I would totally want to do nasty things to her as well.

Any chance she has a penis?

She was telling the obese man to scram, so you and her could make with the sexy time? Or are you "fatso"?

Storm was ridiculous. I was watching the storm come across the Hudson from my apartment. It was just one huge sheet of rain coming in sideways. Cleaned our windows (thank you baby Jebus). Upper West Side was fine otherwise. Take that hipsters.
