GM's thread about nothing (22 Viewers)

I gotta say it: saintsfan's thread (specifically his opening post) made me real angry. I'm posting it here because nothing good could come from me posting in that thread. This may be because my natural father was a drug dealer (saw him beaten bloody by the cops when I was five), I was a problem child as a teen, but I had a great (step)dad for awhile who never raised his hand to me and, retrospectively, I know it was his compassion and bottomless patience that led to me turning out alright. I had to get it off my chest. Ok. Back to the Knuckles Show.
Maybe you should PM him what you wrote above.
I actually think that could be productive.

You're smarter than this. How many times have I taken the road less traveled and been proven right? You had guys like Pickles back in 2004 attacking me for being a gold bull, claiming it was going nowhere. Look how much of a fool he's turned out to be. I owned his butt so badly he still hasn't gotten over it in 7 years. He probably sucks his thumb in bed having nightmares about it the way he carries on. Or how about when I said Obama was a one-termer, and you had these same fools claiming the republicans were finished and would not rise again for decades? They are pretty silent now, aren't they?I would think that you would understand the danger in following the crowd and conventional wisdom of all people. If I say Obama is behind the OWS movement, and the consensus is I'm crazy, you're first thought by NOW should be to dismiss the crowd.

So I woke up this morning, and had something rattling under my car as I tried to drive. Looked under, there's this basket-weaved shaped thing just hanging down and dragging on the ground.

I took a cab into work, but I'm seeing my top two choices for apartments this afternoon (and today is filled with meetings). No idea how to make this work.

Thanks. Any chance we can get a cornhole at that Knights of Columbus you go to in your town?

'zooks, I can't give any good advice and see others have been fantastically helpful, but wanted to let you know that if you need some freeze pops or bendy straws or a small tropical island or anything, let me know.
Fact: freeze pops make everything better. Also, do you mind if Little Zooks and I move in with you and Mr. Krista in that new country you bought?

Zooks, no use harbouring resentment toward the bf. He's not the one that wronged you.

First time I had the opportunity to confront my exs current gf, I knocked on her car window. She turned away pretending not to notice. I knocked again and motioned to roll down the window. I put out my hand and introduced myself, nice to meet you. We shook hands. No animosity as long as my kids like her. They do.

If I don't want him, why would I care who does?
You're a good Mom and person for doing that. I think I'll always have resentment towards this guy because I do feel that he also "wronged" me. I never liked him because I thought he was d-bag just because of his loud personality. He always acted like he and I were best friends and I tolerated him because he and his wife worked with my ex. Up until the day before their affair was confirmed, he would give me a bear hug from behind whenever he'd see me and thank me for allowing him all the time to talk to my ex because her advice is so helpful. I finally admitted to myself that I had suspicions about their "relationship" and then his wife confirmed to me that they were having an affair for months now. I've never said anything to him or about him to my son or anyone else, but I have vowed to myself that one day down the road I will go completely Michael Chorleone on him and he will have to answer for his actions. I know that any confrontation with him would not be good for my son and my ex would probably create a "custody" issue. But one day when my son is grown and custody isn't issue, or if he and my ex break up and he is no longer part of my son's life, he is going to find me knocking at his door.

Not to get all political (there's a reason I avoid those threads), but I don't get where this "Obama is behind the Occupy protests" comes from. I took part in the local version last week. I had a sign and and hung out in the park with some former students and other profs. I ended up talking to a number of passerbys who would stop to ask what we were about. One rather belligerent guy came over on his lunch break to antagonize us. While he kept things relatively civil, his arguments were borderline insane. He asked how the 99% protests started. I mentioned both David Graeber and Adbusters as the early organizers. He laughed at me and said, "Graeber, I don't even know who that is. OBAMA. Who do you think has the power? He called for this on TV."I couldn't even reply to him. I just :mellow:ETA: After I told him I was upset with how campaign contributions determine policy, he made a loud point to note that Obama is the worst corporate funded politician of them all! I agreed with him. He totally is. The guy was utterly nonplussed. He thought he had leveled a deathstroke on me or something, and was confused that I wasn't a jobless lazy blue Democrat blindly supporting my man. Maybe I answered my own question from above. Some people really are just black/white mentalities, locked in an eternal logical fallacy of either/or logic.

The same people who think Obama is a socialist and think he was born in Kenya are the ones spreading it.

Watched two episodes of the hog show last night, pretty funny...recording another one now, the golf course one. There a thread for it on here? The daughter's intriguing...that rack helps a lot, but she definitely is no Brandi from Storage Wars. The dog cam is pretty cool during the attack. RIP Rooster, lol.
:hifive:

I saw the movie in the theater and don't remember too much about it because the fat girl in front of me was eating a hot dog and chased it down with a diet soda. The entire movie, she was burping up the most toxic fumes imaginable. Every few minutes, while my stomach was trying to stabalize itself from the crappy filming, I'd catch a waft of that offensive odor and begin to feel the vomit triggers activate. There were no other seats in the theater and I was smack dab in the middle of the row. The entire experience was awful. I've never seen the movie again, so I don't really have much to add to it.
I saw it in a black theater (yeah, we have those in MN). That moved it from awful and boring to pretty funny as most of the theater was yelling #### at the screen.
I did that with "Higher Learning" in Ft. Worth. That wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done in a life filled with idiotic maneuvers (tossing a lit joint out the window on the lawn of the police station in Hayword - HI!)
I did that with Natural Born Killers in Baton Rouge. I tip-toed out the back about half way through the movie and then ran to my car.

Not sure if I can get something that quickly.Right now, the plan is to take a cab back to my current apartment, then just risk it and drive to these places (they're fairly close to where I live now). Terrible plan, but don't want to miss these appointments. I'll call AAA after that.

Which bottle went where?

+1 As for the last part, I'm still with that chick I started dating last December, and I've got a story to tell you sometime about why my ex is so pissed at her and me. I seriously doubt we'd ever reach the point of amicability that you described.

Curious as to how his ex found out.Sounds like you're doing the right things now, i.e. keeping your son as priority No. 1, moving forward and not looking back.

Not sure how you keep the her cheating on you part from her family though (think you said they don't know). Would have been one of my first calls.

BTW, I just went outside to have a um, smoke, and here comes this cute little bunny hopping across the driveway. I'm just enjoying the silence, saw the thing and just wished Swqruds was there to see it. Then the hassenpfeffer sees me and freaks out the way they do. But instead of running away from me, it ran right at me. I literally had to kick the thing off. W.T.F.
I warned you! But did you listen to me? Oh, no, you knew it all, didn't you? Oh, it's just a harmless little bunny, isn't it? Well, it's always the same but do they listen to me?

Went to Rudy's BBQ for lunch. Normally my calorie intake for a Rudy's lunch is 1700+. Today it was 516.All about the choices you make.
love Rudy's. Would consider going there for lunch today if I hadn't already packed a sack lunch.
Have you witnessed the preparation of every rib you've ever eaten there?
Please don't ruin Rudy's for me. TIA.
There is zero chance of that.

Turned down a ticket for Florida-Georgia. With kid's soccer on saturday I wouldn't be able to get down there and meet up with friends until after 1. No sense going to the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail party if you only have 2 hours to get your pre-game on. Folks down there already have a 2-day headstart on me. Plus, I have no earthly idea how I would find my way home.

Front page again today. Officers were tipped off that illegal drugs were being used. No drug or other laws were being violated, but the catering center did not have a permit for live sex shows. :lmao:

Mrs. SLB and myself booked the room at The Chase Friday night and made dinner reservations at Sidney Street last week. If you check your notes, I bought these at a charity auction. Since the game got moved to tomorrow, it could be epic.

I need to know though, the gift certificate is for "dinner & drinks for two, gratuity included". Now, I would feel REALLY weird not tipping even though it says right there that is included but I should right? Also, how many drinks do you consider "drinks? Like 14?

But one day when my son is grown and custody isn't issue, or if he and my ex break up and he is no longer part of my son's life, he is going to find me knocking at his door.
This gave me an erection to read.
Are erections good reading? Oops, novel?

This gave me an erection to read.
What does this even mean?
Hi Aaron - What it means is that I get a real hard on reading posts that discuss a mythical beat down because I too harbor fantasies of killing the man that slept with my ex-wife, even though I don't really care if my ex-wife ran a train on the Harlem Globetrotters at this point. So when I say I obtained an erection from reading zooks post, it was a metaphor to describe my enthusiasm for his angst.Peace,G
