GM's thread about nothing (52 Viewers)

Can someone explain the Wade Boggs thing? I'm gathering it's something to do with the lottery thread?
Lots of people want in on the lottery ticket thread. comfortably numb gets shut down by PayPal. BigJohn starts a thread at the other place, and enables us all to send the $5.50 as a way of buying a Wade Boggs card. Most of us are still waiting for the card to arrive, but apparently shuke already got his.

I just had 25 pounds of Nueske's bacon delivered to my house.
There is something around these parts called Benton's Bacon. We had it recently and while really good, it was super salty. What's the deal with Nueske's?
It's apple wood smoked and totally awesome. I've seen it specifically named as an ingredient in some nice restaurants. I really can't recommend it enough. BACON!!!!!!!!

Just found out I had both Thorn and Gadzooks listed as "Gadzooks" in my phone. No wonder I've been so confused over the last few months in the Text Cliques. :bag:
:lmao:
If you and Zooks were one person, you would become some sort of black hole of debauchery from which nothing wholesome could ever escape. The three of us REALLY need to hang out.
You just described about 15 people in this thread

I'm in that pool, an office pool and just bought 20 bucks worth myself. I got a grilled Chick-Fil-a sandwich for lunch and drew the receipt for a free sandwich so I'm pretty sure I'm going to win the lottery now. Everybody that wished my a happy birthday on Facebook is going to get a nice little surprise.

That's why I love this place.

While not necessarily nice, I have seen this local Benton's bacon mentioned in Yelp reviews for breakfast places around here, which is why I even wanted to try it in the first place. Perhaps I'll order this Nueske's of which you speak.

Sans the Chick-Fil-A, I'm in the same boat. Husband got ten people here to put in $10 a piece, and I think he bought several himself. My math tells me that we basically have, like, a 1:203 chance of winning the whole thing.

I like the regular cut myself but some prefer the thick. The regular cut gets thin and crispy and just melts in your mouth. I sent some to my cousin as a thank you for watching the boys all weekend and he still raves about it. You won't be disappointed.

GM isn't so great with names. For months he thought I was Harry Beanbag or whatever. And for about a year he mistakenly thought he was in an eat-off with Shakira.
Wait, you're not Hairy Beanbag?
As far as you know, no.

Sigh. My notebook is totally whack.

Rough week at work and off for the weekend so I'm getting drunk...I'll be qualified to write the bible shortly.
:hifive:In for drunk, Imp. How do they do it in Cananadaland?
 We drink booze. How do you do it? :lmao:
I like a nice beer/whisky combo.Just shticking, I was born in International Falls, a Cananannanananananannanananada border town.
Shocked you didn't freeze to death before you were out of diapers. That town is colder than the last layer of Dante's Hell.

Target is like the Vegas of shopping venues. I swear they pump in oxygen and such to make you buy more. And every end-cap tells a story of things you desperately need but didn't realize it.We're buying another house as of tomorrow. I had a neat, well-organized list of the type I'd have for anything, with categories and places to buy and recommendations. Then suddenly I found myself in some sort of Hello Kitty aisle with an already-full cart.Evil, I tell ya. Evil.
Contact MoP. He has stuff for a house he's never going to own. Apparently.

My buddy is in Vegas, but is having some furniture delivered this afternoon, so I offered to chill at his place and wait for the guy to drop it off. He gave me a window of 2-4 for the drop off, so I've been chilling at my friend's house having a beer or two since after lunch.

After 3pm I get a call from a random number. The dude left his phone at a rest stop and didn't realize for ~30 minutes. He turned around to go get it and it wasn't there. He was calling me from some stranger's phone to let me know that he was still ~ 40 minutes out.

Ok, no biggie. My buddy lives downtown and there's no way for this guy to get in and contact me to let me know he's here, so after about 35 minutes, I went outside to wait on the street for the guy. Just got a call that he's completely lost about 15-20 minutes from here :wall: I've been waiting outside in a parade of homeless people and gangsta wannabes for almost an hour now.

How I know I am not a "true FBG" just yet.

Went at lunch to buy a suit (will sadly need one for my stepdad's funeral within the next month), so I went to the generic overpriced suit store where they had BOGO free. Got fitted, measured, tailored, the whole nine yards. Two suits, two shirts, two ties, and all other crap, bill came to $900. I drove to work, sat at my desk for about 5 mins, got back in my car and returned everything.

I know I need a good suit (my current one is way too big), but there is no way I can spend that kind of money. Going to do some discount shopping this weekend.

Thanks to Zooks and Guster for making me feel good about my text this morning. LOTR girl.
Nice :thumbup:I presume you'll also give us an update of how things have been on that front?? Hehe, front. Get it??
Not too much to tell. I'm down to 15 days. She is further along than that. But it feels good to be flirted with by someone 7 years your junior, and where I would clearly be outkicking my coverage.

Not to go all hipster on you, but check out second hand/consignment shoppes. It might be hit or miss on sizes and you will likely need some alterations, but you can usually find some great deals there

That is actually what I have in mind. Hipster is very much the way to go with this.

Ditto. I've always wanted to be like Hunter S. Thompson's attorney and follow him around saying things like, "as your attorney, I advise you to have 14 more vodka-tonics."

Jos A Bank should be having one of their weekly sales of the century this weekend.

You don't have a Men's Warehouse or an S&K? You can get better than decent suits there for like $300.

:lmao: :lmao: Man I love gin and tonics but quit them years ago. Rotted my stomach something fierce.

Just lost a nice piece of business that put a solid 10 hours of work in and about $100 bucks worth of gas. About 85% sure it is because I'm white. No shtick. Seriously angry right now.
