GM's thread about nothing (43 Viewers)

I've been a total bum today. I strained my back at the gym, then Fly Jr. slammed the screen door knob right on the sore muscle. So I stayed home to take it easy. Stats of 'taking it easy' -

- 1 beer downed (had to suck the ibuprofen down with something)

- 3 games of MLB played (went 1 and 2)

- 2 chickens crock potted, Columbian style.

On the productive side, I did sent an email to my boss and looked at the cover of the Proust novel I've been meaning to read. There's a cute redhead on it. Didn't read a single word.

I also got a 21 year old kid drunk for the first time the other night. The girl who sometimes babysits my son (24 years old and a solid 3 on the FBG scale - sweet girl, but nothing to look at) came over with this guy and we had a few drinks. I like the guy. He's one of those nice guys who's never been laid in his life, and until that night, never been drunk either. Terrible acne issues. The other guys in their circle make fun of him for not drinking and hooking up, but despite studying kung fu for 8 years, he never does anything about it.

The babysitter suggested we get him drunk in a 'safe environment' where the other guys couldn't take advantage and make him eat dirt or something. So I make him a few Irish coffees. After awhile he starts laughing uncontrollably, then he sobs, then he confesses his girl troubles, then he tells us that he slept in the same bed as his parents until he was fourteen years old.

This guy is from a third world country, but he's no dirt floor dweller. He's fairly wealthy, lives in a sweet apartment in the capital city, has servants, etc.

I said, "you know, you suddenly make a lot more sense."

He was

Also, if you ever want to see horses run real fast at night, shoot roman candles off over their pasture. Yeehaw!

Not sure why but this made me :lmao:
It gets better. The next morning he wakes up. I'm REAL hung over because I mixed beer, whiskey, and tequila. I stumble out to my living room where he's sleeping on the fold out couch. He wakes up, looks completely fine, then blinks and says, "alcohol really messes up your body. I analyzed my organs before going to sleep and my liver, kidneys, and lymph nodes were all off."I look at him. "You analyzed your organs?"

"Yes. Using kung fu."

*PROUD FATHER ALERT*

My son received his class schedule for his week of TAG camp at Reed Collge. :nerd: One of the classes sounds really really cool:

Architecture on Mars

Learn what it takes to design meaningful architectural space where people live and work, even if it is on Mars. What would buildings look like on another planet?

In this architecture workshop, you will look at alien environments through the eyes of an architect. We will need to take into consideration the production and storage of the things necessary for life, food, water and oxygen as well as protection from radiation and the climate. Architecture must successfully meld form and function, so we will explore architectural principles and develop design and drafting skills to create site plans, floor plans, elevations and models of an alternate home in the Universe.
He'll also be studying Martial Arts, so one day he can have a professor from upstate NY get him plastered and shoot off fireworks at barn animals.

No grill? If you were doing this on the grill, I'd slather in yellow mustard and load up on your favorite rub. Last week I spatchcocked a bunch of chickens and that was fun too.I'd suggest putting some of your rub in the beer as well for steamy seasoned deliciousness.
All I have right now is a little smoker, which can double as a grill in a pinch. It is not ideal for this endeavor. But in two more weeks, along with being able to mow my own yard, I will have a giant grill to work with again. I'll add some of the rub to the beer. That's a good idea. Going to pass on the yellow mustard. I like fancy moutards only.
GM - you don't taste the mustard at all. It's a BBQ trick for getting your rub to stick to the meat. Whether you like it or not will be completely irrelevant to your eating enjoyment. My organs have asked me to never analyze them. It makes them self-conscious about their health.

So just baste the inside with mustard and then rub in the dry rub? I can do that.

So, Marv. Since you're reading the fifty shades of horny, any insight into the 'silver balls'? I have heard them referenced recently....

I never finished the first book. Wife read all 3 with no real positive results. While I am disappointed I am also fairly proud of her.

On top of, and under the skin.

For reading?
:lmao: Yes. And because she recognized just how terrible the books are. Of course you have to wonder why she read all 3 books if they were so bad. She said "they're stupid enough that I have to see how much worse they can get".

I understand this sentiment. That being said, I am also proud of my wife.
I hear you. I wouldn't have been disappointed if she had had a different reaction to the books.

Sorry about your bad luck GB...with...your bottom.

I am calling upon the power of the GMTAN for a good cause. I will be riding in the MS150 bike ride at the end of the month to help raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research (I guess SLB's walk did not raise enough for them last year). I have a cousin who suffers from it and would love to no longer hear about her bad days.

If you can find it in your heart to donate.

Any and all shtick is welcome in your donor name. As an added bonus I will post a shot video this weekend if I can hit $300 by then (already at $220) and if you guys help me hit $500 I will be open to suggestions to add to the six foot orange flag I will be attaching to my bike.

Thanks in advance.
:tumbleweed: Just a pity bump for me.

I am risking severe penis scarring, all you guys have to do is donate a little money to a good cause.

Speaking of kung fu, finally caught Ip Man and Ong Bak 2 over the weekend on netflix. Probably have had both in my queue for 2 years since my gal doesn't get down on teh Fu. Quality stuff.

I will donate to this, but NOT to the allergy fundraiser. I mean, wtf?

Looks good as is. Maybe jam up a bunch of fresh Rosemary and/or sage in the cavity and/or under the skin. I still think those two plants by your swingset are rosemary, but they were not very clear in the pic.

Zerothworld problem of the day: Delta's Sky Club in Memphis must be the worst in the whole system. Also, this old-timey 767 blows. See you in Luxembourg.
