GM's thread about nothing (35 Viewers)

1994, the year I went to college and met the future Mrs. Fly.

Amazingly, the first time we hooked up I was sober and she was drunk off her ###. I say 'amazingly' because 99% of the time I was the one smuggling kegs into the dorm while she sat in her room reading.

I realize in a different context this post could sound kinda rapey.

BTW, how much coffee is too much to drink everyday? I love it but not sure if I'm within a normal range or not.

What is PTO? Commute sounds so much easier. 1 hour? Each way? Signed, Guy about to bike an hour home. :bag:
PaidTimeOff
Is the word "vacation" down?
PTO generally combines vacation and sick time. Regular vacation usually means you get a separate bank of sick time or personal time.
Been a while since I had a corporate job. We don't even have a policy in place for vacation or sick days. Take off when you want but be reasonable about it. I had 5 weeks a year at my last job, but I never got close to using it all. You know what I want? A sabbatical! What's that all about? How do I get one of those?

Yeah I definitely had some Ninkasi when I was in Portland but forget which type.
Total Domination is on tap everywhere. I like it, but it is hoppy, heavy and punches me hard in the liver after a few. Did you try Deschutes Chainbreaker White IPA? Drank a bunch of those this summer. They don't bottle anything, but if you find them on tap, order whatever they have.
There are pictures of bottles in that link. Secret society beer?

1991 - bought Pearl Jam Ten

Then the rest was history :excited:
Saw them in concert that year. The one and only time. Went for the Chili Peppers. No one knew who Pearl Jam was.
Yup, me too... back when they were still worth listening to.

:lmao: PHOTOSHOP DOWN????

What I should have said they don't sell the bottles in stores. You can buy them at the brewery.

Forget it. I'm a moron.

UPDATE 12/5/12: More Retailers! Portland-area Fred Meyer and Trader Joe's stores are adding our bottles to their shelves, and they are taking our refillable bottles back too! Check out www.DMReturns.com for locations and more info.

I think my beer place has that Chainbreaker. Haven't tried it yet. Pretty decent?

When you can expense beer to your wife's company while living in Seattle, you buy the expensive Organic stuff, IMO.

I like it quite a bit. It's a very drinkable beer (as if I've had too many that weren't) and was a really good release for summer. They style it as a "Belgian IPA" and carries 5.6 ABV, if that helps. Get a six pack of it and let me know what you think. My FIL and I sucked back a bunch of them in August.

5.6? What is this? Junior high?

Umm, that link says you can buy them at Fred Meyer and Trader Joes.
:bag:To my defense, they just announced that for 12/5/12. :bowtie: If you can get some of this before you leave, do it. One of the best I've had. The guys that started it were the head brewers at Full Sail before starting their own brew pub. I first had it in Hood River back in '09. I order it whenever I find it. Hoplava and Vaporizer are both tremendous.

Was hoping for a "manly man" mockery of this. :lmao:
