GM's thread about nothing (34 Viewers)

I'm really glad Austin was spared the worst of the Great Recession, and I'm glad things are going great guns today.

But it's Saturday, and it should not take an hour and a half to get to the ### #### convention center for the auto show. Every road a cluster ####. On the way home, it took ten minutes to find a parking spot at the liquor store. Granted, they were having a big event with a band and stuff, but seriously. It was like Death Race 2000 out there. I want to choke the life out of some living creature with my bare hands. Preferably, a hipster who should have gone back to San Jose when he had the chance. I should have a drink.

1) Auto show

b) Reggae Fest

iii) Open house at Camp Mabry

Avogadro's constant) Ironic potato-sack race

OK, I made that last one up.

Mixing equal parts Tuaca and Redrum.

Rented This is 40 on the Redbox last night (GM, let me know if you need a primer). It only scores in the low 50s on RT but the wife and I both enjoyed it quite a bit.

That Motorcycle Grand Prix thing: the world's leading road circuit motorcycle sport takes to the track for its inaugural Austin race. The three-day event starts with testing on Friday morning, but culminates on Sunday afternoon with three big races: Moto 3, Moto 2, and the MotoGP event itself. After the season opener in Qatar, 2012 champion Jorge Lorenzo leads the pack and will test his 500cc Yamaha beast against the Circuit's infamous Turn One. Get there Saturday afternoon to see the top contenders of the future lineup for the Circuit's first-ever bike race – the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

Fri.-Sun., April 19-21. Circuit of the Americas, 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd., 301-6600. $89-179, three-day passes; $59, race day general admission. www.circuitoftheamericas.com.

I'm sold out and could have rented another 30 rooms tonight.

I forgot that the reggae festival was today. Can't wait to see the pictures of the white kids in dreadlocks feeling the music in the paper tomorrow. Because, the struggles of the poor and oppression by the man really speak to the stoner deadbeat stay-at-home twentysomething rich kids from west Austin.

JR, Yuke and I had an awesome day. My buddy had a Lone Star in hand when we got there at 9 and we stayed until after lunch. We played with the cows, threw rocks and sticks in the pond, dug in the stand, hiked through the woods and played in the shop. The closest we got to trouble was when my buddy (who has no kids) asked JR if he wanted to shoot a BB gun. We're a couple years from that. I'm pretty sure that's the first time we've spent 3.5 hours anywhere without a single meltdown. They took hard naps after that. We took them to Kids Night Out and church where they played with their friends for a few hours while we had a grown up dinner and now they're conked out and I'm about to pour a whiskey. Nice little Saturday.

I'm pretty sure I'm old now, because this sounds like a great day

Reggae Fest on 4/20? And I thought Record Store Day falling on 4/20 this year was perfect. This is about 1000x better.

My gf is out of town, it's Saturday night, and I'm on my couch watching baseball and waiting for the pizza delivery. #YOLO

HOLY #### PREDATOR IS ON!!! :excited:
:goodposting:

It was a difficult choice between this, Gremlins and Temple of Doom but I think I made the correct choice.
Those are 3 terrible movies.
Sorry to hear about your troubles enjoying movies, Siskel.
Oh I love movies. But they have to be good...as in "not terrible"...as is "not those 3 movies".
Oh

Dear Hummingbird,

Break out the fine china, chill the lemonade, tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree... cause this boy's comin home to his ladies. Comin home forever.

Now this is a bad movie. :lmao:

Have we heard from uni since his 8am appointment to get herpes from some casino skank?
:lmao:Last night in Chicago, out at another bar. Strug-a-ling. 4th day in a row of very heavy drinking. Not sure I'll be able to make it until 5AM but I'll try my best. Definitely not making another trip to the casino. :oldunsure:
