Holy crap. Route 666, starring the estimable Lou Diamond Phillips and Lori Petty probably doesn't match up to Sharknado, but my god is it terrible. :popcorn:

 
Why does it feel like the destination wedding trend is getting worse? My best buddy in college is getting married at a 4-5 start resort in the DR in the high season. To go to this wedding with my wife it will run 2,000 just for the plane tickets and another at least 400/night. Who wants to make their friends drop a cool 3-4Gs to come to their wedding that they would otherwise have moved mountains to go to in the states?

To the extent that you're genuinely trying to include people in your wedding celebration, yeah it's obnoxious and selfish.

Just say "no", and send your regrets and a gift. It's BS for people to put you in that position.

 
I've come to the conclusion that from Friday through Monday, roughly 90% of my caloric intake comes from alcohol and Red Bull.

The other days, it's split evenly between pizza and Cheetos.

You could probably stand to balance that out a bit. Have you ever tried drinking during the week?

 
Drinking screwdrivers and watching Restaurant Impossible. We had my wife's friends and their two kids over and grilled up burgers and corn on the cob and a whole bunch of beers and the kids ran around like idiots and totally crashed and went right to bed. Pretty good evening overall.

 
Drinking vodka with Football Manager on one screen and JimTan and assorted other pages on the other. No kid tonight. It's somewhat heavenly.

had a friend threaten our friendship because i would not fly to Poland for 10 days :(

Popped an ADD pill for the first time this calendar year this morning. My god I forgot how awesome these things can be. It's been a very productive day and will probably continue for several more hours. Oh yeah, and I went to a party tonight and come out with a date... with the ex-live-in girlfriend. We're reconnecting to see where each other is in life and if there might be a possibility of dating again :Woz: :confetti: :wall: :excited:

I saw on facebook that a girl I knew in college died this week. Breast Cancer. I used to #### her big sister who was my age. When you are 21, 22 years old you never think of growing up and facing things like that. I remember her as a gorgeous 19 year old. Now she's a dead 34 year old with a widowed husband and kid without a mom. ####### cancer. ####### life.

Outside interview - I think I did ok. I guess 3% of my offer was pretty much my limit.

So I won $110 playing poker in a home game. Long story but it was a very odd group of players.

The buy-in was $40 (sit-n-go) and I lost that in about an hour. I only had another $20 on me so I rebought with that.

I was able to turn that $20 into $170 by winning 3 hands in a row at Omaha hi-lo. I won with Kings over Aces, Aces over Jacks, and quad Queens. I don't even like poker.

Pawn shop in Vegas must be very lucrative. Crazy to think that the camera keeps the owners honest to an extent. If I was running the shop, and didn't know the item, I'd take a pic of the object then send it to my expert and ask for advice on how to authenticate it. Never clue the customer in.

I was on the bubble in my monthly game on friday night :wall: I was short stacked and about to get blinded out, so pushed all in with A4o. Paired up my ace on the flop, but the caller (Q6s) hit the flush on the river and my hopes and dreams were crushed.

Probably my favorite All Star event of any major sport, with the hockey skills competition a close second. It's just really cool to see the young players across the levels of the minors show their talent and ability.

It's also interesting to see who was chosen from each team - sometimes it's because they deserved it and are one of the best prospects in the system and other times its to showcase a player to potential trade suitors

 
I have spent my weekend in Pittsburgh. Except the part I spent in West Virginia. I'd kill for these people to have done a destination wedding.
