So, I manage a facility that exports grain via shipping containers. Along with interacting with customers overseas, I spend most of my days making sure containers get back to the rail and communicating with the trucking companies. Basically dispatching for them, Don't know why it took me so long to figure this out, but I should buy my own trucks and make twice as much money doing only slightly more work.

It's always that simple, isn't it?

You're in Atlanta? Small chance I might be heading there for business in the next few weeks sometime. Prep your liver just in case.

Is this the part where you give someone else advice on starting their own business?

Because owning aging trucking assets when you don't have much pull with the manufacturers and your maintenance costs are sky rocketing and your driver turnover is 90% is a pain in the ###. Not to mention, having to manage volume fluctuation that keeps those assets and drivers from producing consistent revenue instead of sitting idle in order to maintain your 3-4% profit margin is a constant anvil hanging over your head.

You also have the fact that the driver who like to do drayage are guys who don't mind sitting around a lot. Unfortunately that characteristic isn't the best when you're trying to increase productivity.

I started a ultra low carb thing back in June. I also started doing half (3.5-4.5 miles) SLB walkathons almost every day.

Today I hit the -25lb mark. I need to go buy a new belt after work.

I'm still a fat-#### but it's nice to see progress.

What are you eating?

Keep it up. You'll never feel better avoiding sugar and flour/wheat altogether IMO.

I lost 130 lbs years back. Put back about 30 of it over the years but was best thing I've ever did. Keep it up.

I think part of the reason why I enjoyed my Olive Garden experience last night was specifically due to their being absolutely no carbs in their pasta and breadsticks.

Can drink as much liqour as you want (whiskey, vodka, rum) on low carb. That's the beauty of it. I got pretty hammered last night and gave my girl the old 1-2 magoo later on.

This is Julio's fault. We went to the Nicaraguan Costco yesterday (it's called PriceSmart here but is owned by Costco and has a lot of the same stuff) and found out he had never had a Cheeto nor a Pop-Tart. Had to buy the giant Cheeto bag and the 36-count strawberry frosted Pop-Tarts so that he could experience them. He declared the Cheetos to be "so delicious oh my god".

Cut down but not by much. Switched from beer as my go-to beverage to whiskey and diet. No carbs in that. I found that drinking alcohol didn't cause me to gain but I'm sure it slows down the loosing process. Although I didn't cut out beer totally. I just make sure that I haven't had a lot of carbs that day.

The one thing "they" warn you about when it comes to drinking while doing low carbs (or any other diet) is that your will-power is shot to hell when you're drunk. So far I've been good about not eating a bunch of crap while/after drinking.

Krista - destroying Nicaraguan culture one mass-produced snack food at a time.
:lmao: I actually do feel bad because the food here is generally very healthy. Then again, they do offer this #### at the PriceSmart, where I didn't see any other gringos, so someone's eating it already.

Did your daily diet remain pretty consistent, ie, you ate the same things routinely? What was a typical day for you?

I'm going back on my 5/2 fasting regiment soonish. Had success with it, but am open to alternatives. Lost 10 pounds, but summer has been the summer of fat Forrest.

Being in my position, I have the ability to distribute work to different trucking companies. My superiors won't care who I give the work to as long as it gets done. A few other guys have their own trucks at other facilities and those are some of the most sought after positions by truckers. They are pretty much guaranteed good consistent work year round.

Pretty much. A lot of meat: chicken breasts, hamburger, sausage, bacon, lunch meat etc. Cheese. Vegetables like snow peas, green beans, carrots (which have some carbs but screw it).

And low-carb tortillas are a life-saver.

The wife likes to buy the Adkins brand mini-shakes and snack bars but they're way overpriced. Tasty though.

Lately I've worked in nuts (peanuts, sunflower kernals).

Bottom line is that I'm sure as hell not starving.

more often

more natural

less per sitting

Eat 4-5 smaller meals a day instead of 2-3 larger ones.

You can train yourself to not be hungry. Learn to eat because you have to. To sustain life. Don't eat because you need to / are starving.

The overall weight loss with this, it is a slow process, but it does happen. I've been at it since Jan of '12 and I'm down 80 lbs.

I've also found it easier to maintain as a lifestyle change as opposed to having a 'I'm on a diet' mentality.

I don't know. People came from near and far. Bakes even drove in from... whatever hell he lives in. Gator was there. Rude, hack, saintfool. Some other people I'm probably offending way more than your absence offended me. All JUST to have beers with ne. And for no other reason whatsoever. But no krista. :sniffsniff:

Working from my hotel in downtown Seattle. Tried to hit up Salumi for lunch but the line was long and not moving.

Ended up going here instead. Had an awesome cheese steak but they didn't know what I was talking about when I kept asking for more details on the time their dad beat up OJ.
