Watched gi joe retaliation. This is a bad movie. I usually like every movie and had really low expectations since I'd heard it was a mess. But it was awful. I don't even know where to begin.

It was a lot more enjoyable watching it with my 8 and 9 y/o sons.

One thing I wasn't ready for was the fact that they really just made the cartoon come to life in this one. People jump out of cars right as they explode (best part of the cartoon), one guy driving a tank and destroying a bunch of bad guys on his own. That part would have been fine except it was applied unevenly. Plus they all but said they were rebooting the thing but they go ahead and ill Zartan and turn storm shadow? And Bruce Willis doing "it's me, Bruce Willis!" Was annoying.

I use amazon prime streaming lately. Watched the hunger games and mission impossible ghost protocol the other night.

Magic Mike is Goodfellas compared to anything GI Joe or Green Lantern or Battleship related. That movie had dark forces, man. Drugs. And sorority girls. And naked women. And fights.

I didn't think magic mike was without value. The story was fine and the dialog was terrible in an entertaining way. And there were some funny parts. I'm secure enough with my sexuality that I can watch a male stripper movie without worrying that I'm gay.

I quit cable about 5 months ago and have been living on Netflix and basic channel antenna broadcasting. I've actually enjoyed it. But with football season here today, I stopped by my local Verizon Plus store yesterday and inquired about adding ESPN to my bill (I get interweb through Verizon and they gave me a cable box for local channels which I really don't use).

Me: How much to add ESPN just for football season?

Verizon Dude: Our basic cable package that just includes ESPN is an additional $25 a month to your bill. Would you like a two year contract?

Me: No, just the football season. Thanks. This is ESPN in HD correct?

Verizon Dude: No, you'd get the non-HD version. Would you like to add an HD box for $13 per month?

Me: So to get ESPN in HD, I need to pay an additional $38 a month to my bill?

Verizon Dude: Correct.

Me: Okay.

Cable company death cometh, and that right soon.
