OK, the "Simpsons on the couch" pic - bricks??
:lmao:
Was this ever answered, because I didn't get it, either.

Not the Mallrats reference, but the original pic heckmann is referring to.

You guys have never seen any of the "casting couch" porn vids?
Where would one find such videos if so inclined?
First, you'll need an ancient map, a seaplane, and an Indiana Jones hat....

Girl 1: Those are new grades? Does that mean they've been updated?

Girl 2: No, they've been downdated

Girl 1: Your face is downdated.

Girl 2: Your mom is downdated.
The girl that said "your mom is downdated", we'll call her Sienna, just skyrocketed up my Favorite Student List.

We're watching a video about westward expansion. There's a segment on the Donner Party.

Some random kid says "So these people ate their relatives? A dad ate his kid!?!"

Now I make jokes all day long to amuse myself so I say "Let's not bicker or who ate who...this should be a happy occasion!"

Sienna says "Nice Monty Python reference, Mr. Malloy."
Let's go no "large-tracts-of-land" for now.

OMG. This is like when I told a GB I never saw Shawshank Redemption and he said he was jealous of the awesomeness that awaited me.

I just spent an hour discussing the new Tinkerbell movie at work for work purposes. My job is no guster's meditation lab, but sometimes it's pretty fun.
I'm analyzing marijuana stocks.
They have that now?
Oh yeah. Hell, you might be interested in this sector as almost all stocks are under a dollar.
I'll buy three shares please. Maybe pick up a couple more tomorrow.
Anyone wanna go halfsies?

Pass it around.

Loved that band back in the day!
 Stoneage Romeos is a sweet album.
Gonna spotify this later. "Blow Your cool!" was my intro into them and I wore that tape to the nubs.
The album that came before that, Mars Needs Guitars, was a little better IMO.

I'm real careful about sites I visit. I've almost destroyed two computers due to uncontrolled porn viewing.

you poor *******. ;) my notebook sux0rs

My wife is in crazy nesting mode in anticipation of the kids article in three weeks. :hide:
Is she gathering bits of cardboard, fabric and newspaper and putting them in a box? (Note: My only experience with nesting was when I fostered a pregnant cat.)

Also, I hereby nominate DA RAIDERS for "worst notebook".

Yeah getting old and cancer are horrid. My buddy Judson from Dallas is down to his final days. Guy fought like a brave for a year but has given up. He is 41. I will be going to Dallas soon...too soon. I'm thankful I saw him last year for the super bowl to say goodbye to him when he was of sound mind. Brain tumors have robbed him of that dignity now. He will leave behind a wife, no kids and numerous friends. I am honored to be one of them. Sigh....
Sorry to hear this GB.

4 racks to rent a house for a month makes me a little twitchy
That's for a 2-BR apartment. Houses are sometimes more, of course. My friends in Ballard rent HALF a duplex for $2800 and think they got a good deal.
Buying might not be a bad investment idea in Ballard.
Looks like I'm a year late in all areas of Seattle, with those year-over-years. :kicksrock:

Renting an RV to drive us and the four cats from Atlanta to Seattle: an idea I might not be able to resist.

Also, 'ninja, I meant to go back and reply to your post, but now it's pages ago. Not going to buy the house we had a contract on but am rethinking "buy v. rent" again. Before y'all think I'm ignoring good advice from HJS and others, I've spent a lot of time looking at apartment possibilities, and to get a decent 2BR in an area we want it will be $4000+ a month, plus parking plus huge fees/deposits for the cats. It's really hard to swallow that, and even if we did it's not exactly easy to find a place that allows four cats (every place I've seen that accepts pets at all has a two-pet limit).

We're going to head out again in a couple of weeks and look at apartments but also look at places to buy where I could just pay cash. Even if that's not financially the best strategy, not having a mortgage sounds very freeing and less stressful than a rent or mortgage payment. And if we decided to move, which I really don't think we will, we wouldn't be so stressed about selling the place since I wouldn't be under a mortgage.

Anyway, just a possibility.
I know you can find a nice rental house in the 3k range. We're in the 2k range and are in a good neighborhood with a decent sized house. 50% on top of that should be acceptable Krista levels.
Believe me, I've been looking. It wouldn't surprise anyone, I'm sure, to know I've looked at thousands of listings. Aren't you in the 'burbs? (I'm just making an assumption there, based on the kids--sorry if wrong.) City core and even Ballard which is a little father from the center are just crazy expensive.
I'm in West Seattle near Lincoln Park. My wife pretty much looked on Craigslist every day for a month and we looked and signed on this place within 2 hours of it being posted.
LOVE West Seattle. We would consider it but feel like being new to the area we need to be in more of the "action" to begin with, places with a very high walk score.

I've been doing essentially what your wife is doing; hopefully it will work out. Tough not being right there to check out a place immediately, though. We're coming back in Jan. 24 to try to nail something down, whether a rental or purchase.
I would think that "The Junction" (Alaska Junction - where that house is that I posted) and Admiral Junction would both have very high walkability scores. It's less than 5 minute walk to about a dozen restaurants, 3 supermarkets, etc.

I'm probably way behind here, but Drifter is in West Seattle. NOT THE F'N BURBS. :)

West Seattle is pretty awesome, IMO.

I'd probably be fine with The Junction but have not seen a single house posted for rent there in my several days of searching a billion websites. I gave up for the last two days so might start searching again. We tried to look at a house about a block away when we were there last but it went under contract within a day of going on the market. Such a hot area. There are some apartment complexes I looked at there, too, but they don't have great reviews and generally don't have big enough apartments available (and I'm not looking for huge). (That's what she said.)

Admiral Junction is a little bit too sleepy feeling for me. There are a few things but not really enough.

ETA: I also am looking in January, which might partly explain the lack of options.

I lived in Admiral Junction. Could walk to Alki and/or a small number of good bars and restaurants. But, yeah, I think you'd probably prefer to be up North in Ballard or Fremont or something.

You can do that in Bellevue, Kirkland, or Redmond too
best dog park ever in Redmond. Not sure the cats will get much out of it though.

K4 is pretty staunch in her anti-burbs beliefs ( :hifive: )

Sounds like what I'd imagined. Definitely a few good places but we really want the selection of Ballard, Fremont, Capitol Hill, etc., not just for our own variety but because it would give Mr. krista a broader range of potential work opportunities close to home.

By the way, Drifter, if you know/hear of anyone looking to rent a house to a nice, half-quiet, half-extraordinarily tidy and meticulous, couple with cats, let me know!

I don't think Krista is hippy enough for Fremont.

The benefit though is that Fremont is way better downtown access than Ballard.
