Yes, and kind of... You are going to have to start prioritizing what is important to do, and be prepared to work at any time you have a chance to.I am lucky that my work allows for me to "flex" hours.

I do work from 7am to 3pm, get home for after nap daddy/daughters time, this last to bedtime, then back to work again from 8:30pm to 2-3-ish.

Only way to make it work is to get the kid(s) on schedule early and NEVER deviate from it.

Single dad, litigation attorney, 2 hour commute 4 days a week. Working today, but took rover kid with me. It's a constant struggle. I have very little time for the GF, and only late at night for me.

My life is scheduled around dad first, career second. Sometimes I pull it off. Mostly I just feel like I'm treading water

Uni - are you at Winstar? If so my family has an old barn just on the other side of the river you can sleep in. Would probably be more protection from the elements than you're used to.

My favorite part of this one was the sentence in the middle that was inexplicably not in all caps and had almost correct grammar. It's like that one was a cut-and-paste.

 
GB bentley, I saw your post last night directed at me but didn't reply because I was going on three nights without sleep and feeling really sad. Today I'm going on four nights without sleep but feeling less sad.

Anyway, I'm really sorry as my post must have sounded obnoxious. What I intended but likely did a poor job of communicating is that I feel like I don't fit in the South, and the tendency to get really dressed up for no reason and wear a lot of makeup is one aspect of the South that is really weird to me--weird as in different than my experience for the vast majority of my life, not weird as in wrong. I didn't mean to imply that it was weird for you guys to dress up, especially if you were doing it because it was a fun date night for you not because you felt you had to. I also forgot that you were in Austin--particularly strange given that I had someone develop and install a "what's bentley doing now" app on my phone--which is undoubtedly more laid-back than other parts of Texas anyway.

All just to say sorry if I offended you, and I'm glad you and AngryWife had such a nice night.

I was just funnin' with you. Absolutely no offense taken. It's not like you suggested that I was a hobo that needed to spend the night in your family barn.

I hope that you continue to feel less sad. And some sleep would probably help.

This is a different high-school "friend". I might need to leave Facebook. "Yes for the post I put up 12 hours ago I was reading my bible an the one I have but little saying so I wrote that because there r people out there going though a lot right now no jobs dead beat parents that a Mom or dad family that mess. On u etc.As everyone who know me I always help everyone else and this is a New Year I not fake I tell u how. I feel and my mother said don't do that but I do I believe in saying it to your face not behind your back that how I always been .Life is to Short People Dying or getting Kill Car Wrecks .Like My Mother Said Time is Running Out We All Need To Get It Right in Our Life And With God"

Honestly I don't really know. Not like a suicidal sad, but just extraordinarily glum for a while.

well, not enough... And no, not big law, IT for big oil.I consider myself lucky to be able to get away for 6-ish hours per day to spend with the kids. :shrug: most I bet only get 2-3 hours per evening.

As for business trips, Skype/tango/FaceTime works ok. I got the kids iPads to talk to them and they enjoy it. They also call their grandparents abroad on it.

I think you're searching for something. You already found the right partner for your journey. Enjoy the freedom that you have and stop searching for what will complete your story and instead let the story find you.

The postings that piss me off are of the passive/aggressive sort that are begging for "Oh my, dear! Are you ok?" responses.

The benign Jebus posts don't bother me that much, I just scroll past those.
