GM's thread about nothing (38 Viewers)

Wife and I are going in 3 weeks. Staying at The D (The Fitz). Haven't stayed there since the change over. Looks slightly improved.
I haven't seen the renovated rooms personally, but from the pictures I've seen, you should be pleasantly surprised.

The second floor has been branded "Vintage Vegas," making perfect for old coots like you and me. There is good video poker up there, and Sigma Derby, the mechanical horse-racing game that is a blast with a large, drunken group. Bob>end of September, you say?
 I always liked the Fitz. You got more than you paid for and the service was always good. I also like how "vertical" it is. No room is really more than a minute from the elevator and the elevator lets you our right into the casino. No extra hiking.

The "Fly" episode? Really?
Abe thought you would like it
Abe was wrong.

The "Fly" episode? Really?
The one people love to hate.
Just doesn't work for me in the context of this show. I might like it if I were going to see a movie that was a simple character study with two characters, or even better it could work as a play, but it has totally killed the momentum of the show for me.

Yeah, a play. It could definitely work as a play. Much of it even seemed staged that way.

I liked "The Fly"
So did I. That said, I thought that K4 would like it as well since she found some of the other, actiony sequences to be predictable in S1 and S2 (IIRC). The Fly is an outlier in the show for a zillion reasons but for people drawn to the two main characters, it really is excellent to see them like that. Anyway, we move on...

I guess I shouldn't say I didn't like it. As mentioned in another context I would, and you weren't wrong in thinking that it appeals more to me than the actiony parts. But I had come to accept and even enjoy that the show was about the actiony parts, so then this really stopped me cold.

I don't know...will have to consider it more. Just threw me for a loop.

Would make a great play. Have I mentioned that?

Has anyone heard from Cos? I sent him a text on Saturday to see if he was OK and haven't heard back. Usually he replies at 4am asking "Are you awake? Time for a quick chat on the phone?" but nothing this time around.

As a result, I will use Bob as my text-message conduit to the JTanners during Operation Kidbirth tomorrow.

:excited: Good luck Abe, AbeWife and little Hattie.

Lemme check.

Cos, I snagged an entire box of pre screeners, probably like 50ish movies that haven't even hit theaters yet and mostly artsy, smaller stuff. I was going to send to you but if you're dead I can't, so let me know if you're alive.

when I was just out in Vegas, my first night out at the Hard Rock, I sat down at a $15 blackjack table with $100 buy-in.

Lost it all in 7 straight hands (they let me play the last one for only $10 since it was all I had left).

0 and 7. first time that ever happened to me. after that, I was gunshy to gamble much.
I once played black jack for 45 minutes and was never dealt anything higher than 17.

I don't play anymore.
I once lost 17 straight spins of roulette at $50 a spin. #### thAt game.
Wait, you've been to Vegas 17 times?!?

REAL ####### FUNNY DINGLEBERRYHEAD.

You're much better than this.
Flattery won't get you off the list, sporto.
Frankly I'm disappointed that I'm so low on the totem pole.
So.. what did you do?
I made Julius Randle hit a lot of free throws in the 2nd half, apparently.
Kid can play. Not going to lie - the mocks where he slips to 8 or 9 are fun in a "how did Paul Pierce slide to 10?" kind of way. Looking forward to the draft.
