1. Wife and #1 son are working late. #2 son is out doing something stupid probably. It's just me, my 2 dogs, and 2.5 cats. I'm honoring the occasion by drinking whiskey and diets. On first drink now.

2. Blasting Spotify. My main playlist is freaking bizarre since I use it in the classroom. Everything from the Clash to Demi Lovato. Mungo Jerry to Pharrell. Splitsville to Elle Goulding.

3. Did a wedding rehearsal today after school. The wedding is tomorrow. The groom is a former student as is the best man. Another groomsman is also a former student whose wedding I did a few months back. It was at his wedding that I did a shot of Fireball (the official hard liquor of Bakersfield since 2012) in the groom's room. Today said groomsman offered me a beer out of the cooler he was lugging around. I declined using the "low carb" excuse. Made the mistake of saying "I'll probably go home and have a couple of whiskey and diets". Twice said groomsman stated that he was bringing some whiskey tomorrow just for me. The wedding is 15 miles out of town out in "horse country". I might have to walk.

Absent something relatively unusual like a serious health problem, a good marriage should have sex regularly. That said, it's never going to be at the frantic pace it was when you first met.

For some married couples this means "only" 2 times per week; for others even less, and for others more. The good news is that if the marriage is healthy overall, you don't tend to miss the sex like you did when you're single.

Also, if the sex completely disappears from your relationship (again, absent other issues), that's usually a strong signal that there are problems.

It may help if this is the norm. Every relationship I've had going back to when I separated from my ex wife, there has been sex (damn near) every day (and for the long distance relationships, every day+ that we were together) so maybe I'm extremely lucky that I engage with very sexually active women...or maybe I don't satisfy them and they keep clamoring daily for some satisfaction.

Took my semialcoholic Purple Heart having Veitnam vet construction worker neighbor out for what was apparently his first public appearance since his wife passed away 18 months ago.
