Oh yeah, Office Pete, an older cousin of mine that lives out of State and I barely know was brought up in conversation the other day. From I understand she lives on a some land up in Wisconsin and lives off the land. Giant hippie obviously. My Uncle says to my Dad, I heard Moonbeam got a job? Dad replies, yeah, she's a preacher. So I have to ask what kind of "preaching" she's doing since she isn't exactly the religious type. Dad says, she marries people and stuff every once in awhile.

My wife's younger brother is a major screw-up. Just never had any ambition or discipline. He followed Phish around for a while. He came to town about 10 years ago to try to sponge money off of us. He did have a job though: He sold "rare" rocks. Not gems or crystals or whatever...but actual rocks. Not even Hank Schrader-quality minerals. Had some sort of geocities-like website too. Gave my kids a couple of freebies. He claimed they were the remnants of meteors. Looked like petrified cat #### to me.

Last I heard he harvests medical marijuana up near Santa Cruz.

I think he got out of the rock business when the market hit that big downswing back in aught-six. Diversified his holdings into uncommon sticks and scarce dirt clods.

I know I've mentioned the annual trivia contest thing in here numerous times.

I guess there was some doubt as to the tournament being held this year. It's a fundraiser for the Cal State soccer team and the coach that organizes the contest just left for greener pastures. Turns out they're still doing it.

I get this email the other day from the old professor of mine that serves as the team "captain". She said that although they are having the contest this year she was considering not putting a/our team together this year.

Her reason? Because we've won the last 3 years in a row and "the lousy reception our consecutive victories" gets from the other teams.

Then she asked what everybody else thought. I just politely replied with "I think we play again this year and continue to try our hardest". I was tempted to call her a Communist and ask "did the mother-jumping 1980s Lakers sit out a year? Do you think John Wooden 'called off the dogs' because people grew tired of watching UCLA win? Not sure about you but I want to be the G-D Dan Gable of 'The Brains of Bakersfield'".

Still not sure if we're going to have a team or not. If she doesn't want to enter this year I'll put myself on the market as a free agent. I won't settle for less than my entry fee ($40) and at least 20 drink tickets.

Porchetta Bruschetta Appetizer by trestelle

INGREDIENTS

1 sm. pork tenderloin

1 tbsp. (15) crushed dried chili flakes

1/4 cup (50) red wine vinegar

1/2 cup (125) olive oil

4 cloves garlic, chopped finely

2 tbsp. (25) fresh rosemary, chopped finely

1/4 cup (50) fresh dill, chopped

1 tsp. (5) ground black pepper

1 tsp. (5) salt

1 cup (250) ready made bruschetta topping

6 slices baguette, cut on a diagonal

1 tbsp. (15) olive oil

1 tub (200 g) Tre Stelle® Bocconcini, drained and sliced

INSTRUCTIONS

In a medium bowl mix together chili flakes, vinegar, oil, garlic, rosemary, dill, salt and pepper. Pour into a

large resealable plastic bag; add pork tenderloin, seal bag and allow to marinate for 2 hours or overnight

in the refrigerator. Preheat barbeque or indoor grill. Remove tenderloin from bag and drain. Place on grill and cook approximately 15 minutes or until cooked through, turning frequently. Remove from grill and place on a cutting board, cover to keep warm. Meanwhile brush each side of baguette slices with 1 tbsp olive oil, place on grill and toast until golden; turn and top equally with bruschetta topping and slices of bocconcini. Grill further until cheese melts slightly,

approximately 2 minutes. Slice tenderloin on a diagonal into 12 pieces and place on top of bruschettas.

Makes 6 servings

I am GB. Quite a mess here these days. She's been throwing up for four days and losing weight, and that's a little scary for an 8 week old. Mrs. O is completely losing her ####, wheels are coming off. Had an ultrasound yesterday and ruled out a serious issue, so that was good, but she threw up both her feedings last night. Beginning to feel like this is over our doctors' heads and we need a specialist.

We haven't had a decent night of sleep in a while, I've taken a few days from work just to be around and help out. Quite a mess. Hoping for better things today.

So in addition to swimming and playing in toxic waste as a kid, I've been breathing it in for the last 13 years.

This is about three miles from my office. Nothing to worry about though. They just forked over 6.8 million because of an odor that isn't noticeable most days.

Every time I see or hear a gubbermint PSA about the dangers of smoking and drinking...well...I get really stabby these days. Bunch of cocks.

Dylan is definitely the second best though. What I really liked is how he just acted like a ball player.
