If the niece is coming with just her kids, I don't see what the big problem is. Poor girl probably hasn't caught much of a break for most of her life, and now has a chance to get away and spend a week with family and relax. I dunno, just the way I see it.

This is my lean. It's family and you have the opportunity to do something cool for them...if you want.

I'm not sure if that thing is going on, based on no mention of him since the "engagement announcement" a few months back, and the stream of "I'm pathetic & lonely" VagueBook posts since.

She's a hot mess, as far as I can tell. She may be lacking a moral compass or solid direction since she got divorced. She's definitely struggling to make ends meet, and she's 900 miles away from the only family she ever knew.

Tonight I kind of feel like a horse's ### for even judging her. I wasn't exactly a saint my first 30 years or so. Hell, it's NBD to treat her and the kids for a week.
