My neurofeedback conference in the valley was great.

First day I fly in at 7:30 am, rent a car and drive 90 minutes to the conference and sit all day watching neurotalkingheads.

Eat dinner at the free "concierge Level" thing on the top floor and head out to catch the 10pm premiere of the planet of the apes.

By 11pm I am sweating like Homer in a lineup in front of the Youngstown ISD's special Turpitude task squad . I'm also drifting in and out of consciousness. Peole around me start coughly loudly or accidentally kicking my seat whenever i drift away and it jars me from the explicit nightmares that unfold within seconds of tupor. So I leave there after sixty minutes of getting ready for the 40 minutes worth watching and stagger to my car and careen back to the hotel.

I slept 26 of the next 32 hours and it was 8 hours after that before I was able to fart and only have air come out.

Was woozy saturday, but made it through okay, before meeting an old gf for dinner. Sushi of course.
This is wonderful.

Power out since 11 (it's 1:22 now). No backup sump pump so I'm bailing water out of the sump put with a pitcher into an orange Home Depot 5 gallon pail and carrying it up the stairs, out the front door and pouring it down the driveway.

Power is supposed to resume around 3am. ####.
Sounds fun. How long does it take to fill a 5 gallon bucket?
UPDATE: I averaged a bucket every 5 minutes. Each bucket was probably 4.5 gallons. I was bailing water from 11-3am.So (12 buckets/hour x 4.5gallons) x 4 hours = 216 gallons of water. Which after I did the math (did you know there's 7.5 gallons in a cubic foot?) on a 1,200 sq ft basement, it would have only been like 1/4 inch of water across the unfinished basement floor. But that still would have been enough to ruin a decent amount of stuff we don't want ruined.
Why the #### don't you have a battery backup with that much water? Was it raining or is that normal?
What kind of battery back up? I need one.

I think I actually have a second pump in there hooked up to a marine battery and a control panel plugged into an AC outlet. It gets triggered when the power goes out. I'll take a picture of it later.

Anniversary dinner was a huge success. As predicted, my Mom cried at the beginning, during each of the first three courses, at dessert, and when I dropped them off after dinner.

By the way, the answer to "which artist does my mom love and I'm forgetting" was Neil Diamond. Neil Diamond. Luckily I thought of it earlier today. No thanks to you, YSR. :hot:
Sorry!

But, also:

That's, like, textbook.
This.

First and foremost, Stryker, thank you for everything. What a pain in the #### I am starting with giving you the train station to pick us up. Really wish I would have videod your awesome wife and Pep making out. It wasn't nearly as impressive as you slamming that beer though. JFC Those sausages were ridiculous too at the game. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Your wife is so very cool and cute too. Lucky *******.

Tre, thank you too for lugging us around. I knew you were a nice guy and all but you exceeded my wildest expectations.

Dr. Bourbon, I'm still in shock over the vast quantities of booze on your person. Thank you again for sharing. I know my gutter palate doesn't appreciate it the way I should but it was very cool of you.

Thorn, it was nice to see you again. Thanks for not stealing my wife away from me. Pretty sure she would bang you.

Rude, it was great to actually talk with you and not the back of your head this time. lol ;) Thanks for keeping me company and letting me bend your ear.

Y'all some SERIOUS drunks though. Wow. Thanks for not making me feel alone. It was a great, great, time. Love you guys more than you know.

My daughter is officially 8. She is awesome. She had a great bday. Her 2 cousins from HI have been with us the last few days, pretty sure they will need insulin when I give them back. They all had a great time, all "rules" have been off the last 3 days. I love my little girl!!

And I woke up/came to on the living room floor at 2am, so I had a little fun too. :bag: :banned: at least the cops didn't come this year. :excited:
Does your wife like to bake?
She does. :oldunsure:

Shots at midnight on a Sunday after drinking for the past 72 hours are always a great idea.
Pep just asked if I noticed how everyone paced themselves yesterday except for you and me. Fast is a pace right?
I probably should have passed on the vuvuzela beer bong.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: You rule so much.
:lmao: Our twink waiter says "I'll stick my #### in a guy but I'm not putting a dress on".

I not only do not own any of this equipment, I don't even know what it's for. Is it normal to have all sorts of gadgets to prepare for the end of times?

one of the funnier things I remember was at the end of brunch yesterday. We had all gone through a lot of really good and strong beer during the meal to run up a $300+ tab or so. most of the crew left with stryker to take Charlie home, so me, Tre, and Bob were at the bar and Pepper was waiting outside for our cab to show up. Tre was enjoying a beer, and Bob had just ordered a red bull & vodka. I decided to order a coffee to go so I could bring it with me in the cab. As soon as Bob gets his drink made, the cab pulls up outside. He asks the bartender to bring him an empty coffee cup to go, and the guy looked at him funny but then just brought one over without giving it too much thought. Bob pours the red bull vodka drink into his cup and got to enjoy his cold refreshing drink on the way to the next bar. I'm pretty sure it was illegal, but still brilliant.

:lmao: To go cups are pretty frowned upon, depending on the bar. I'm kinda surprised at that. But awesome for Bob

And I'm just going to leave this here

No. :kicksrock:

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Office Pete Malloy for his suggestion that I get a medicine ball for exercise. It has made a dramatic improvement in my life.

No. :kicksrock:
More trouble than they're worth IMO. Sump pumps are used in basements. When you dig 8 ft underground, the concrete walls of the basement are sitting against soil outside of the walls. There is a drain system that pulls water from the bottom outside of the basement walls. Essentially, the groundwater during a rainstorm will drain through the ground and get caught in these drains. These drains then funnel the water to a pit below the basement floor, and a pump pumps them up and out of the house. If the power goes out, the pump won't work and you run the risk of the pit overflowing and flooding your basement. A backup sump pump runs off of a standard marine battery and can run the pump for hours or days.

I had a backup pump installed but failed to hook it up to a battery. Therefore, I had to remove the water from the sump pit as it was filling up, dumped it into a 5 gallon bucket, and carry it upstairs and dump it down the driveway.

Basements are wonderful until the one or two days every few years where they are not.

Car's loaded up and now about to trudge back to LA

I just had a quick lunch with Bob and Pepper. He left his phone charger in his hotel room in Milwaukee so his phone is probably dead by now.

He did slam 3 screwdrivers in the short time we were there though, so he's got that going for him.

Our My long national nightmare is finally over: Romo is about 1.5 hours from home.

Which is perfect timing because I've been having some pretty intense contractions since yesterday morning. I still have a few weeks to go, so I'm drinking tons of water trying to get them to stop, but it's nice to know that he'll be here just in case.

How far apart are they?
