GM's thread about nothing (46 Viewers)

thanks everybody... I was freaking out a bit.

wife got on the phone with "we're ok, but we got hit by a car". and then hung up fast before I could get details with "oh.. the cops are here".

Damn floppo. You should riot or something. Glad everyone's ok. Except the driver. I wish him/her a wicked case of gingervitis or worse.

BTW, Crossing Delancy was a terrible movie.

But what happened with the penny? That was his inner dialogue. Did he get the penny? Did he leave it in the take a penny tray? Did she pocket it as part of her own really slow superman 3 scheme?
Oh, I took the penny, all right. Because the total due was $4.99, not $5.00. I will admit to being frugal, but I will not apologize. I don't make FBG money, so if I want to go to Vegas twice a year, I have to economize elsewhere.
I'll cover our Tigerfan League Dues, GB. :oldunsure:
:lmao: My expenses are also low. I don't have a wife or children. I don't make a lot, but I don't spend a lot. I'm the anti-Patrick Ewing.
I was curious about this at one point. No Kev juniors? Any exes?
You don't remember the glorious picture of Kev's hair on the beach with a future Mrs. Exzilla?
:lmao: She had husband #3 lined up already, so she was willing to get rid of me quickly and efficiently. We used the same lawyer, paid him $550, and we went from "I want out" to final in 120 days.

I'm apparently seeing Dave Matthews at the Gorge with the doctor chick, and spending the night with her in an RV owned by a friend of hers.

I'm a little unsure about all aspects of that plan, including seeing Dave Matthews.

Saw DMB about 6 weeks ago. I was essentially unfamiliar with his music going in (other than "What Would You Say"). I have to say it was a pretty good show. Crowd was really into it. Apparently there are two things DMB fans reeeeeeeally love... DMB and smoking tree.

Just bought tickets to see the Oddball Comedy Tour. Should be worth it just to see Bill Burr
:hifive: I bought tickets Saturday. No Burr at our stop, but we get Louis CK.
Went last year and had a lot of fun. Will probably go again this year. They usually do a Groupon where tickets are only like $25 I think.
Yeah, the groupon is happening right now. Before buying I checked Live Nation and saw the 4 pack was a slightly better deal. For seats at least.

skip the concert and enjoy the Gorge (hopefully not a euphemism) imo

This kind of made me hate it more when I was roped into one of his shows. Especially when my soon-to-be-exgirlfriend exclaimed "They play the best version of All Along the Watchtower!".

They don't.

Oh, and I dropped my phone and shattered it on Friday. It's an old iphone 5 that has some issues anyway since I got it wet a few months ago, so I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy s5.

I have two weeks to change my mind if I don't like the s5. Anyone have one? Like it?

We were not treated to that (fortunately). I can see where it could be annoying, but this crowd just had a good vibe/energy. Made it a good experience.

I got an LG G3 this weekend and love it. HTH.

Steer clear of the tour bus.

Love my S5. Battery life on it is sweet. I've dropped it once and luckily didn't ding it up at all, very durable phone.

Only problem I've had is the charger cover thing on the bottom. After a couple months the little rubber piece wore out and somehow broke off. I just leave it exposed, which means it's not waterproof anymore but that's no big deal.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now, though I upgraded from an S3 so I already had experience with Samsung and the Android OS. It may take some getting used to for someone coming from iOS.

But I like it a lot. Great screen, great battery life (usually about a day and a half on one charge). I'd definitely recommend getting a case though

I like the phone a lot.I don't like the charger port cover.

I love being able to swap out batteries.

I love the camera. Shots & more mode is great for capturing just the right moment. Taking pictures underwater is dope.

No issues with the phone... makes calls as expected.

I love the bigger screen. At first I was afraid it was too big (I often wonder that with other things, if you catch my drift) but it fits easily in my pocket and doesn't feel any bulkier than my old iPhone 4.

First day of school.

The one thing that really got my attention today was the unusually large number of parents accompanying their kids on campus this morning. Walking around with them, finding classrooms etc. These are 7th and 8th graders for the love of woz. Cut the damn apron strings already.

What's the worst thing that's going to happen? Your kid is going to get temporarily lost on their first day. Oh the horror. They're not going to fall down an abandoned mine shaft. They're not going to end up in John Wayne Gacy's car. They're not going to miss some vital curriculum that will hinder their ability to get into Harvard. They're going to walk to the wrong class and then someone is going to point them in the wrong direction.

Oh and what makes it worse is that NONE of the kids whose parents hung out with them on campus seemed embarrassed. If I was 12 years old and my mom walked me around my junior high on my first day I would have died a little inside.

School started here today too. I had to take my truck to the shop and while I thought I was about to have a great day, stumbling out of bed to get an extremely early start to the day at 7AM, I was greated by a yellow school bus full of kids and my optimism quickly waned. Luckily I was heading against traffic most of the time, one set of which was 4 miles deep and stopped heading towards an elementary school near my house.

So I am in a networking group and we are supposed to take a vote on new members. The person sending the mass email around instructed people to respond "yay" or "nay."

So now I have a bunch of emails from alleged professionals that just say "YAY!"
