GM's thread about nothing (40 Viewers)

I dropped a poker table on my foot and broke my toe today. Drinking to dull the pain.
I wouldn't have it any other way. How's the new digs? Plenty of painkillers handy?
We love the new place. Everyone is adjusting well and we are already planning the neighborhood happy hours. Took the boys to the neighborhood pool yesterday and it is way MILFier than the old pool.

Ran out of beer. Switching to Norco and Bulleit.

Floppo - glad everyone is ok...but how did the car hit the stroller and no damage? had it just slowed at that point? i'm just curious more than anything.
no idea. I'm assuming she was crossing, car hit her stroller slightly and then drove off... must've slowed to do this. dunno.
Ok- so she started crossing Delancey and a small SUV came from the one-way street she was walking on (Orchard) and made the right onto Delancey, hitting the stroller in the process knocking it slightly over (wife had to catch it) and kept going. She said the SUV was going fast... so freaking lucky this ####### didn't kill my daughter. And considering he's making a right- no way he doesn't see them; I think he was in a hurry and didn't want to yield to the pedestrians (law/common-sense).

She called 911, told them what happened and that she and kid were ok. Cops came and were distinctly unhelpful and seemed to not want to have to deal with the incident so they wouldn't have to write up any paperwork. Ambulance came- very helpful. It appears that an accident involving a kid under the age of 5 means major Cover Your ### mode for NYC, so they took her into the ambulance (which my 3yo apparently loved) and gave her a full check-out. Then... according to regulation, they were going to take her to the hospital ER. My wife declined- but first needed to speak to a supervisor- on the phone AND in person (had to wait for them to get there) and then talk to a doctor (on the phone). At this point the cops realized that, at least to the NYFD, this WAS a big deal, so they started their own paperwork.

It happened fast, but my wife saw some license plate digits- told the cops, who ran them and came up with nothing... she was missing at least one digit, even if she got them all right. I figured that between a general make of car (red suv), state and some digits from plate they'd be able to get something. Nope. There have to be cameras leading to the WBurgh bridge- and I wish this warranted somebody pulling that info to bust this ####er.

Here's the photos of the SUV, btw. just in case any of you are CSI photo forensic pros and can make out the license plate.
Post this on reddit and they'll figure out whose car that is.
I ALREADY IDENTIFIED THE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL!!!

If you need an American-made full-sized SUV identified, always go to the guy from Houston.

So I'm trying to come up with a good magic football name for a league where all the guys are Minnesotans. Is Michelle Bachman Norv Turner Overdrive a bit much?

I wore Packers colors in honor of Frosty, since I just assume all Minnesconsin people are descendants of Brent Favre.
I have that same shirt. What, 12-16 years ago you got it? I wear it all the time.
Hey Tanner, Nike still sells solid colored t-shirts.

Although nowadays they don't like to be called colored.

There are over 40 new or first-year teachers in our district and school starts tomorrow. One of them apparently thinks sending me emails telling me things are "high priority!!" and she "needs it for the first day" Is the acceptable way to solve her tech issues, when the real issue is her (also new) principal put her in a room without a projector and turned the room next door (had a projector bolted to the ceiling, electric service run to the ceiling, and all the cabling in place) into a ####### "motor-room".

I think I'm going to make her cry in front of her class tomorrow unless I wake up in a better mood. I couldn't help her even if I wanted to since the electrician would need to wire her room and securely bolt the mounting plate to the ceiling, but now I think she needs to understand that maybe, just maybe, making sure the whole district has student schedules loaded and can login and take attendance is a tad more important than her not being able to make it through a day without showing a video. Also, we'll review the big button labelled "technology work order" on her desktop, which puts her issue in the queue for her school tech and me both to see. I can't wait to see what first-year teacher replaces her next year.

BTW, I'm blaming the Reds' bullpen for this rant.

Probably gout.
I'm about to celebrate my Third Annual Loss of Right Big Toenail. :( Wasn't it you who posted about losing your toenail last year and having another toenail growing underneath? I think Disco Stu and I commiserated on (celebrated?) our toenail losses.

Anyway, RIP Right Big Toenail. You were my favorite one yet.

I'll have a drink with you guys.
I am also in for some drinking. It's me, my daughter and my MIL here in my house tonight. Wife gone until Thursday. My MIL got here back when Fergesun, MO was a peaceful little suburb and Robin Williams was still available for Mrs. Doubtfire II.

Drinking? Oh....I'm just waiting for the liquor to trickle down my throat in droves and waves.

A family from Dallas (Texas not the TV show) moved in down the street over the summer. If you check your notebooks, you'll remember that our driveway is the bus stop. This is relevant because their youngest is in Kindergarten which means a parent needs to stay with him until the bus arrives. This broad always wears yoga pants and has the most incredible body. Oh yeah, she's super cute too. Oh.....man.... :bag:

I can't think of a reason not to do a shot video.

Thanks for leaving "rapey" out of it. I don't think we need to go into all that here.

I think one of the other schools cornered the market on first-year "talent" judging by the district breakfast today. I don't think she's hot enough to get away with the double exclamation point, at any rate. I'll probably cruise in there tomorrow, look up at the ceiling, shake my head ruefully, mumble something about the maintenance dept. then go to lunch.

Don't drag me into this mess.

Although "Feed the Tree" is a damn fine song.

Man, Ferguson has me bummed out. As Nelly so eloquently put it "Man, what do you know about the Lou?". "St. Louis" is a conglomerate of cities that you wouldn't even realize you are going through one or another without signs telling you so. There are not "white" cities and "black" cities. Well, there are a 2-3 really rich cities that I expect are all white but I wouldn't know, they don't let me in there.

My entire life, at least where I lived and hung around, everything was always somewhat diverse. I've had black neighbors my entire life, even now in the middle of nowhere. My drunk point is, there isn't some grand racial divide amongst most of us. We get it. I've been in the blackest of black neighborhoods, on my own, and have never felt threatened. It was quote the opposite. So just remember that when you see the images on teh TV. I've always known that you are shown what they want to see in regards to the the media, but this is a huge eye opener.
