Okay, watched most of this now and while I feel bad for the guy, he comes across as a bit of a tool. Video starts out with him yelling at pedestrians to "LOOK OUT" as he races along in the bike lane. He gets hit, refuses an ambulance and then says "I don't talk to police if I can help it". Yeah, okay. Slow down a bit when you see cars that pose a risk of opening a door. Not saying he is at fault, but he could have mitigated the damage by employing some common sense.

:shrug: I didn't really watch the video other than to see if he got doored.

definitely an aggressive, entitled, dooshy dude.

but I'm constantly yelling at people "yo!" as they stumble into the bike lane. it's the bike lane. there are other places for stumbling pedestrians. all of us here are getting much better at being aware of each other... but if you pop out in the middle of the block from between two parked cars, I don't have many options and I'd prefer not to hit you and/or cause myself to crash and muss up my scarf. at the crosswalk? I'll give you a hug. I had a friend die doing the same thing into car traffic.

it's NYC- every block has cars lining it that pose a possible door opening. fwiw- the law is on the side of the cyclist here... if it comes to that. people are supposed to look to make sure it's safe to get out of their car... especially into traffic, car or bike.

but again- it's about cycling safely and smart. if there's a cab with it's lights flashing on top, chances are high that somebody is going to get out of the door.

Agreed. I mean, the Pats aren't going to be given total control of their balls on Sunday....I'm out $100 over this. I have 7 mouths to feed. I was banking on this as part of my portfolio strategy. This and robbing convenient stores for diapers with panty hose over my head.

9/2 and 2/9......come on, man.

Dude also proudly brags that he bikes 25 MPH! Oh, okay Lance...maybe dial it back in a city crawling with cars, pedestrians, trucks, rats and Jay-Z.

I used to ride that fast in training- at 5:00am in Central park, without cars or many people out. where he was riding? (which is near where I live and used to work)... very busy area with some of the most clueless pedestrians in the entire city- anybody that rides a lot knows to dial back around there.

but like I said- we're all getting better at being aware of the other people- walking, riding, driving. but people like that guy in the video make things worse for the rest of us and deserves whatever accidents come his way- hopefully he doesn't hurt anybody else.

8 it's a leisurely jog, due to my lack of wind. she easily keeps up and will run a mile no problem. and isn't winded at all :hot:

that's pretty great- running with the kid, not being a lard-###.

I don't think my son could run a single block. sure, he'll sprint back and forth across our apartment like a complete spazz for an hour... but run a mile? no freaking way.

Decided to do that "give your liver a break by not drinking" thing that people often do in January, but I'm so smart I figured February has fewer days so I'd wait until then. :thumbup:

I considered doing this, but realized: (1) there's this thing on Sunday; (2) I'm going to Mexico for 8 days, after which I will most likely not be seeing notcrazychick anymore; (3) who am I kidding.
