Goid on Roids was founded in 2001 to promote IDPs. It was originally a pros vs joes league with staffers from here and FFToday playing against contributors to the message boards of both sites. It has long been Sigmund Bloom's favorite league, and it has been described and discussed on many podcasts. This offseason the 2nd commish it's had bowed out along with one other member. So there's two openings. The concept is if defense wins championships, IDPs should score accordingly. It's pretty close and IDPs typically start falling in the 3rd round though JJ Watt was once the overall #1 pick (rightly so).
It's been $40 to join for a very long time and we should probably raise that but this year's been very quiet with the departure of the commish. Fees pay for MFL. The overall points leader and runner-up get their $40 back, and the rest goes to the winner. Not high stakes but great bragging rights. FBG Staffer Aaron Rudnicki is the current champ. He's won it a few times, as have I, but not for over a decade.
It's a 12 teamer. We start 11 on both sides. 2qbs, 2-3rbs, 2-5wrs, 2-3tes, no kicker. 3lbs, 2des, 2dts, 2ss, 2cbs. 8 bench. 30 round slow draft probably starting the 10th or 11th. I'll randomize the draft order as soon as we're full. 2qbs and a short bench for 22 starters can make this a challenging and frustrating league. I've decided to save my bench and only start 21 several times (and often got the win anyway). QB scarcity has devastated lineups due to injuries. QBs are the highest value, lead the scoring, and dominate the first two rounds of the draft. Waivers process on Thursday morning to give the busy staffers an extra day. Blind bidding with $1000 budget for the season.
If you're interested know that in 24 years not one single member has quit on his team no matter how bad it can get. There's never been any commish drama. There's never been someone not paying. There's never been collusion. If you accept a trade it executes instantly without review. I strongly prefer you have deep idp experience which usually means you're in a deep dynasty league. The other members are all in multiple leagues, busy, and this is not an active league for smack talk and banter. We just quietly grind away on our lineups and enjoy the challenge while being pretty busy people otherwise.
I think you can check it out here.

I recommend scanning the player stats link on that page to check out how the scoring went last year. Maybe look over the rules under the "League" link. As of this post 7 have signed in. So I'm waiting on 3 with two clear openings. If I get two, I may need more and will use a waiting list until the stragglers show or don't show. I wouldn't say we're unorganized, just a little slow to get moving this year with the commish of the past decade stepping aside. PM me with interest or questions.
