Going from 12 to 14 owners, how should we draft now? (1 Viewer)

Calling all 14 teamers with experience!

I would love to hear about how you guys go about drafting without the late round picks crying. We have always done the traditional snake, but now that we are adding 2 it's looking like the later round guys are going to get screwed. The guys will never go with an auction so it has to resemble the traditional snake, possibly 3rd round reversal or whatever. Any input is welcome. Thanks for the assistance.

My main league is 14, it moved up from 12 to 14 teams about 7 years ago. We switched starting rosters from RB/RB/WR/WR/TE to RB/FLEX/WR/WR/TE to help with the RB shortage.

For the first couple of years I was able to clean up from the backhalf of the draft by not getting caught up in taking questionable RB's over stud WR's. Everyone has adapted now but I still don't mind the later picks. I actually like them more than the middle picks.

We talked about doing the 3rd round reversal but never did it.

There are a bunch of articles out there that show that you can get similar points out of each draft position if you draft properly IIRC.

this. going to one RB starter really helped our league when we moved from 12 to 14

My 16 team league abandoned the RB requirement a couple years ago. Hell you can go 5 wide if you want. Balances things out just fine.

We pick names out of a hat then you choose your spot. The 13 and 14 were the second and fifth spots chosen. They played each other in the final.

QB RB RB WR WR WR TE Flex, PPR

Ask them to do a couple mock drafts from those last two spots. Once they realize it's not an empty wasteland of talent they'll probably be happier.
