WTVF.com reports officials with the NFL now plan to formally investigate the accident that injured New Orleans Saints QB Adrian McPherson during a game in Nashville Saturday, Aug. 12. The Tennessee Titans' raccoon mascot, T-Rac, ran into McPherson with a golf cart during second-half warm-ups.

Man, T-Rac has had this coming for a long time. Several friends living in the Nashville area have told me that he's seen out at all the clubs late at night, doing blow, getting strippers, waving a gun around, and occasionally raiding the trash cans in the back. I doubt it was an intentional hit siince he's on probation, but I would no rule out carting under the influence.

Hey whats goin on bro? Dude, last night was spot on. You end up bagging that chick? Man dude bad call. Real bad. You ever find out if that really was a wig in her pants? Aw man, I've got this bad headache. Check your damn messages for once, and lets meet up for beers before the game. I should really quit this job, the only way I stay interested in this ####ty team is by pounding a few before games. They gave me the cart today so maybe I'll be able to cruise by the cheerleaders during halftime warmups.

Peace,

T-Rac

According to a witness who called into the radio, Trac just plowed into him and didn't slow down, just took off. They said it was an absolute bizarre hit and run. Trac was throwing t-shirts but there was no way he couldn't have known he hit something.

Titans, mascot go unpunished.

What's up with that? Would the league act the same way had it been Peyton Manning or Michael Vick? Yes, it wasn't intentional on the part of the mascot ... but a visually-compromised costumed mascot driving a golf cart around on the field is an obvious hazard.

McPherson could have a slam-dunk civil case here ... dude's missing out on at least two critical weeks of camp. He's not a star: he needs this time to impress the coaching staff and solidify a roster spot.

Yeah, guess it's easy to laugh about this from the outside, but it's actually a fairly significant issue for the Saints. The fact is, he's in serious competition of the 3rd QB spot, not to mention that they've had him trying some additional things like punt returns and kick coverage. Now 2 weeks are flushed.Makes one wonder where the NFL's real priorities are when they don't act on something like this, but they fine a guy 10 grand for wearing a pair of the "wrong" shoes.

:goodposting: Hopefully, enough backlash ensues for the league to change the penalties here.IMHO, it's really the Titans that are on the hook. The mascot was more or less doing his job ... someone in authority really should have prevented him from driving on the field during team warmups.

Word has it, the real T-rac was found unconscious in a closet, and Vince Young had part of the costume in his locker...allegedly he was gunning for Reggie Bush and Sean Payton threw Adrian out there to take the hit...Apparently Mr. Young has issues with Mr. Bush...

It makes it absolutely clear where the NFL's priorities are. The NFL is getting paid tons of $$$$$$ by shoe companies to wear the right shoes. As someone else said, if it were an NFL poster boy like Manning or Vick instead of a 3rd/4th string QB, there would have been a significant response.

The latest rumor is T-Rac somehow found his way

into the Seahawks training camp and whacked out

Jeremy Stevens.

anyone with a :link: ?

ADRIAN vs T-REX

4 months later......

The Associated Press 12/18/ 2006

NASHVILLE — Ex-Saints quarterback Adrian McPherson is suing the Tennessee Titans because their mascot hit him with a golf cart before the second half of an August exhibition.

McPherson filed his civil lawsuit Friday in Davidson County Circuit Court and also is seeking $5 million in compensatory damages for the Titans' negligence and $15 million in punitive damages. A team spokesman said Monday afternoon the Titans were aware of the lawsuit but had no further comment.

The quarterback was on the field Aug. 12 warming up when T-Rac, the Titans' mascot played by director of mascot operations Pete Nelson, hit him with a golf cart while throwing items into the stand.

McPherson missed the rest of the game with a deep bruise in his right knee, and the Saints cut him on Sept. 2.

He was signed by the Austin Wranglers of the Arena Football League in November.

The NFL did not sanction the Titans for the incident but reminded all teams that mascots must stay outside of a six-foot boundary around their fields.
