Good Lord, Green Bay looks so pathetic (1 Viewer)

Such a long-standing, quality franchise seems to be hitting the skids. I cannot see having anyone from that roster on my team.

Driver will be a solid fantasy WR, likely putting up WR #1 numbers.

And Favre is still a good fantasy qb, I would not complain if he was my #2.

Agreed on Driver and Favre sure is playing like #2ETA: That's what happens, I watch, Favre plays lousy. I turn off the TV and turn on the computer, and he improves.

Having the #1 WR from a team that appears will be trailing in a lot of games with a gun-slinger like Favre ain't a bad thing IMO. I'm targeting Driver in all my drafts.

ill be starting driver and favre in my keeper league. Driver is my WR 3 behind steve smith and anquan boldin and favre is still a big time scorer due to our messed up system (1 point per completion)

In our system, favre was # 5 overall last year, and i dont see that going down that much. They will be behind constantly, and he'll be slinging it everywhere.

but yes, they really do suck

:goodposting: Favre's #1 target = great fantasy production. They could be 3-13 as a team and Driver will still be a top 15 fantasy WR barring injury.

I can see the support for Favre and Driver. Even the unmentioned Jennings warrants a look late, but it looks like the wheels may be coming offf the franchise and if that happens, i prefer to avoid them althogether (see Detroit last year).

As a fantasy owner, when part of your plan for success involves one of your players' teams getting it ### kicked every week...

Apparently your memory doesn't go back past the 90's. This team has a LONG way to go before they look as bad as the Packers of the 70's and 80's. I suffered through those years, I can brace myself for whatever is to come. And I did draft Driver this year - I agree that he's got a lot of potential. And Favre is my #2 QB. But I agree - after those two there isn't a lot of Fantasy value on the Packers this season.

Had Driver last year, he was great. However, Farve finished 21st in our league last year (where interceptions do count...)

14 years, in the current NFL, is a pretty long run.i lived through the late 70s & 80s as well.. it's fair to say that the current variation of the franchise is a "long-standing, quality franchise".

I actually think Favre looked very good. His arm was electric, and for the most part very on point. GB needs to stop dropping passes. He throws fast guys, you knew that when you signed up, now catch it.

That's exactly how I see it - it's been a good run. I'm not going to get too worked up if they have to suffer through some rebuilding years. I think the way the NFL is today any team can rebuild in a hurry. I don't see the Packers (or any team, for that matter) having to suffer through as many down years as they did in the 70's and the 80's. They will be a competative team again soon.

I'm glad to see he improved, I turned it off around 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter, and he had looked horrible. The Cincy DL had their way with him.

I took Ahman at 6.4 last night and Favre in the 11th... figured any clear-cut starting RB, especially one with a history of decent production like Ahman, is worth a sixth rounder and I grabbed Favre, a guy I know will be chucking it up to back up my starters Warner/Leinart along with Aaron Brooks.

Looking back I'd say I got decent value as we know Ahman and Favre can produce but they are no more than bye-week fill ins and/or a flex start in Green's case.

Believe it or not, this team is rebuilding gracefully. They've been on the decline since the 4th and 26 debacle...that was their window and it closed after that game. The next couple of years were a facade...the cupboards were getting bare but there was this false assumption that they could still contend. Luckily, they brought in Thompson, who appears to be quietly adding high quantity and quality players. This team will be stacked with 1st and 2nd year players with a lot of talent. There are enough veterans on this team to win some games and also tutor the young guys. They'll have 1 or 2 more sub-.500 years, Favre will make things exciting and break som records, there will be a couple more solid drafts and they'll be ready to contend again. All NFL franchises should be so lucky to have come off of 14 non-losing seasons and the (eventual) retirement of a legend with such a solid rebuilding plan.

Regarding fantasy value...Driver is an excellent WR2, Favre is a borderline starter and a great back-up, Jennings has a ton of Dynasty value and would make a good WR4/5 this year, Green appears to be running out of gas but could be a decent RB3 in PPR leagues (if healthy).

It's also worth noting that GB has the easiest schedule against the run - of course, going off last year's numbers. Green may be a great buy low, sell high candidate in like week 6.

I thought he threw fast footballs, not guys. "I didn't sign up to catch anything but hell from my ol' lady" :bag:

This is a :goodposting: but you can't deny that the next 1-2 years will be brutal. I'm not so sure there is such a thing as a graceful rebuilding; seems kinda turbulent from my couch, but Green Bay is loading up young talent and is in great salary cap shape. I agree that the Packers won't be real contenders until 2008. In the meantime, I expect to be :banned: and :wall: and :sadbanana:

If that team doesn't end up with the #1 pick next year, woe to the team that actually does.

Then we'll debate "should the Packers take Quinn even though they have an unproven commodity in Rogers?"

And WTF were they thinking when they hired McCarthy? :loco:
