Ministry of Pain

It's been a roller coaster to say the least. I want to thank everyone for letting me vent about everyone and everything for the last 15+ years but like most things in life it is time to move on. I always planned to have this great end all be all post/speech but truthfully I just want to thank everyone for the opportunity to express myself and at different times allowing me to entertain you.

I went from great highs to mighty lows, went from feeling like I had nothing to still feeling like I have nothing ;) I was inspired many times to get things moving in the right direction and ultimately was able to succeed in doing so. I don't have a lot of answers but I can share the little bit I know.

We are here for a flick, I've written that many times in here but I am entering a phase in life where I won't have time to keep up with many things that just are not essential to where I want to travel and go. So many topics I had always wanted to write about and now those topics will become the centerpiece of my new journal. I believe I finally have reached a point where I simply want to write and not question my feelings and ideas and whether they are right or wrong.

I admire many of you and your ability to keep on keeping on. The fire will always burn brightly for me in regards to FBG. I hope each and everyone one of you find what it is you're seeking. My life the last few years has changed immensely and my views of the world in turn have changed as well. I know several of you question my ways and my desires but none of that is going to change who I am.

You can always reach me thru the PM, emails are always generated and when I can I would like to check back in but for now I am stepping down and retiring from this place. 45,000+ posts and I still have a lot to say but for now I will do so in a different way. May God or whatever you believe in watch over all of you and your loved ones, thank you for being there for me when I needed you all the most.

MOP signing off

 I just never understand why these "retirement" posts happen. Is this supposed to be like pro athletes announcing their retirement at press conferences?

I imagine it is more not wanting to have others question your feelings and ideas and whether you are right or wrong. On your blog you will be able to stifle all dissent, which you can't do here (plus you are guaranteed to make the staff).

Dude has 45k posts and a catch-phrase named after him... he's earned an iRetirement announcement.

I always appreciate knowing when someone is packing it in and moving on.

It's better than someday realizing you haven't seen a post from them for a while and wondering what the heck ever happened to them.

Good luck MOP. Please stop by if Tannehill leads Miami deep into the playoffs so I know youre still watching :)

Hey Sean, I know we've had our difficulties on here from time to time, but, I just wanted to say, if you're reading this, please, take Tim with you.

About 10 years after the end of the British Raj in India, a group of anthropologists decided to poll the population there to see how many people were actually aware that the British had left. They cancelled the poll when the shocking truth was learned: that a significant portion of the population weren't even aware the British had arrived.

For some reason, you reminded me tonight of this story.

Also, just to clarify. Ministry of Pain has been pissing around with you guys since I was 7 years old? If that's the case, there's probably only a handful that are still there from that time.

There aren't a lot of things around here more embarrassing than a failed iRetirement, and yet folks still keep trying it.
