Best possible news. Best OC of the Cowher years in my opinion. And he's someone who can continue to develop Big Ben as well.

WOW! I guess Art Shell is the only one willing to work for Al Davis. Congrats Pittsburgh.

The news just keeps getting better. The Cowher/LeBeau/Whisenhunt team is, IMO, the best they've ever had, and the best trio in the league now that the Patriots have been raped of all their assistants. This is fantastic.

:towelwave:

Al Davis needs to just start owning the team and let others take care of the football end, it has obviously passed him by in a big way, only bummer is Wizzer will be gone after next year most likely. :towelwave: :towelwave:

 This is good news for the Steelers and a smart move by Whiz. He should be on the top of the list for HC jobs next year.

Yeah, but at least they can start getting someone else groomed to step in after next season.

Agreed...I'm just being selfish. :D

Hopping on the "Sweet News" bandwagon here. Hadn't heard one way or the other (they were saying 50/50 chance on the radio this morning), but it's sure nice to know that he'll be around for the title defense.

:goodposting: WHEW!!! I'm sure we'll lose some players (aren't the Steelers about $4 million over the cap?), but I like the fact that Wiz is staying.

Thank God!!

Maybe this means the Raiders will go with Art Shell, instead of Pittsburgh's sloppy seconds!!!

I take complete credit for this as I made it a point to shake his hand during the parade and tell him he needs to come back for the repeat.

Awesome!!! I'd love a repeat!! :towelwave: :towelwave:

If you ignore him, maybe he'll go away.

Watch the first 6 minutes of "Inside the NFL" where they discuss the "bad officiating" last Sunday. They went over the 5 controversial calls and only felt the call on Hasselbeck's block/tackle on the interception return was wrong. This is coming from a former NFL QB (Marino) and two WRs (Collingsworth and Carter) that know a wee bit more about football than anyone here.If it makes you feel better to blame the Seatte loss on 1 bad call that gave the Steelers 15 yards then go for it. Otherwise just give it a rest.

Good job Fro. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06041/653183.stm

Ken Whisenhunt delayed his trip by a day to Oakland, Calif., to interview for the Raiders' head coaching job so he could experience the Steelers victory parade Tuesday.

There, he heard something that stuck with him the whole time he was in Oakland Wednesday.

"Don't go to Oakland, please come back," fans in the crowd said over and over to him.

:goodposting: I think it was especially useful to get Collinsworth and Cris Carter's opinions on the D-Jax pushoff. They basically said that it was called because it was 1) right in front of an official, and 2) a fully extended arm to the defender's upper body. In other words, as receivers they know you can get away with "lesser" pushoffs (i.e. elbows, shoulders), but if you fully extend your arm and gain separation from it, the ref has no choice but to call it.

Now back to topic, since I swore I was done talking about the whiners:

Thanks for staying, Whiz! Let's get one for the other thumb now! :)

I seriously can't believe that would make a difference and it looks like I'm not the only one who said it. Pretty cool it did though.
