What the hell? I'm pretty sure that the collisions are the nature of interior line positions, not due to the 3 point stance. If you take away the 3 point stance from DTs, they're just going to submarine out of a 2 point stance...

He mentioned banning the 3ps "for linemen". He didn't differentiate between O and D, IIRC. It would be interesting to watch an OL try to run block from a 2-point stance.
This movement stems from an article I read in Time magazine last week. A group of doctors were hired to see what could be done about concussions, and this is one of the things they came up with. Time interviewed a couple of offensive linemen (I think Mawae and Mangold might have been among them) to ask them about the possible ban of the 3-point stance, and they actually liked the idea of not having to fire off the ball, helmet-to-helmet, repeatedly every game.
Be a former offensive lineman, I still don't see who if they banned the three point stance how it would stop firing off the ball helmet to helmet like they do. Players ideally would be in similar stance but without their hand down, because it would give them the best initial push and leverage of the ball. No way this happens, if it actually did, football would become 95% pass plays.
Rushing offense as we know it would probably be dead. Might be able to base some rushing offense around spread offensive sets. A lot of draws, too, I guess.
