Gore, Jackson, and Larry Johnson (1 Viewer)

OK this seems a little premature, but I keep thinking about how lucky I got this year. My personal top 5 going into the draft were:

1. LT

2. SJax

3. Gore

4. LJ

5. Addai

Not too original, right? With maybe some switches, I'm guessing that's how many people had it. (I realize a lot of people also liked Westbrook, Alexander, Rudi Johnson and even Travis Henry.)

Anyway, I drafted 8th, and Addai was still on the board in my league, so I was happy. But I would have been happier at the time with any of the top 4. So I escaped a terrible fate!

Which leads to my question: going into next year, Gore, Jackson and LJ will still be the main ball carriers for their respective teams. Will they be in the top 10 of most people's draft boards? Or will they slip down, and would it be prudent to grab them before others do? What do you think?

This is impossible to predict right now. We don't know the 2008 status of their respective coaching staffs, offensive lines, etc.

I agree with the previous poster, but my guess is that S-Jax will remain a Top 5 pick where LJ may slip a little and I think Gore falls to the early second round. Again, many things can change between now and August of '08, but I think S-Jax will get a pass for being hurt, plus the Rams can't get any worse than they are this year.

SJax is definitely having an aberration season IMO. Not only have his injuries derailed his production, but also injuries to his surrounding cast have compunded his sub par numbers. All of those injuries can't happen two years in a row, can they?

I think KC is team in serious decline which does not bode well for LJ.

Gore is dependent on Nolan getting a better OC. If Nolan sticks with Hostetler as his OC, I wouldn't touch Gore with a 10'

and I thought the same about Portis coming into this year, that he couldn't fall that far, and he ended up going in the 3rd in lots of rounds.

SJAX will still be top 3 I think....LJ 5-8 and Gore 8-12. Again, alot depends on how this season and offseason pans out but as of right now thats how I see it.

Top 5...

LT

SJAX

Addai

ADP

Brady

Gore is way too talented to slip past the 2nd round
He's also way too talented to get only 13 carries when avging over 5.5 ypc...but that exactly what happened tonight.Week after week...Alex Smith and that O, and a lack of even a token comittment to the running game are killing Gore, and me, slowly.

If Smith is still the QB and Nolan is the coach, Gore drops to the 4th round for me. He's getting production that is worthy of a RB stuck in a RBBC and that's where I draft them. No higher than that.

I think LJ will be top ten. He won't have the accumulated carries thanks the injury, Croyle will have some experience under his belt, Bowe will be a year older, and you have to think they will do something with the line.
