(10:37 am ET) 49ers running backFrank Gore, who managed only four touches in the second half Sunday against the Colts, wasangry at coach Jim Harbaugh at the end of the game, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. Gore apparently had choice words for Harbaugh near the end of the game, as Gore was heading out to the field.

Gore rushed for a season-high 82 yards on just 11 carries, averaging 7.5 yards per carry in a 27-7 loss Week 3.

i am always amazed how coaches have [insert RB here] who has rushed 12 times for 80 yards and then dont go to them at all in the second half.

saw this repeatedly last year with t rich and rice (as they were on my team) and was just baffled especially that it would often happen in games that were within a td or 2 at halftime.

everyone on that team should be mad at harbaugh. the 49er fans should be mad at harbaugh. it is inexcusable.

That isn't it. If that was true, they would have ran Gore at least a few times and Hunter a lot. Harbug just screwed up huge. That's the bottom line. The read option crap got blown repeatedly.

With the talent Harbaugh inherited, it's pretty much criminal how horribly the previous two coaches ripped off the Niners by not being able to win. It takes a lot of effort to not win with Gore, Crabtree, Davis, iupati, Davis, Smith etc on O and Willis, Goldson, the Smiths, and a few other notables that I've missed off the top of my head. All it takes to win with that talent is an above average coach. Now that he has some adversity to deal with, we'll see if he's anywhere near as good as he's made out to be.

My gut tells me that they're going to run him 20+ times against STL this Thursday (sucks because I'm playing him in several leagues). My reasoning: 1. squeaky wheel gets the grease 2. STL rush defense is exploitable 3. Thurs games seem to be RB friendly

Maybe part of Gore not getting touches last Sunday was due to he having the legs for this upcoming Thursday. Harbaugh kinda keeps him at a sort of "pitch count" early in the season because he is getting up there in age, and there is really not much depth in the backfield.

So it could add up to Gore having a big day in STL this week. Or, they give Hunter even more touches because STL will focus on Gore and Kaep.

I think it's still a collaboration between Harbaugh and his offensive assistants, Greg Roman and Geep Chryst. Harbaugh I think funnels the play into the QB.

SANTA CLARA — Frank Gore disputed a report that he yelled at coach Jim Harbaugh late in the 49ers' loss Sunday and that he, along with his teammates, were all upset at the 27-7 outcome.


"I like Coach Harbaugh a lot. No issues," Gore said Tuesday. "No, I'm cool with Harbaugh. That's not me."

Gore had no carries after the second half's opening series, and he finished with a season-high 82 rushing yards. SFGate.com's Kevin Lynch tweeted after the game that Gore had "choice words" with Harbaugh on the sideline in the closing moments, and that sparked several reports of a feud that Gore says is non-existant.

"I just wanted to win, to get that nasty taste (of a previous loss) out of our mouth," Gore said.

Although Gore debuted on this week's injury report with a (left) knee ailment, he said he's "cool" and ready to go Thursday against the host St. Louis Rams.

Gore did not criticize his lack of carries in Sunday's second half, when the 49ers instead became more pass-oriented and thus used him on pass protection or short routes.

The 49ers racked up 34 points and 494 yards of offense in their opening win over the Green Bay Packers. But in two ensuing blowout losses to the Seahawks and Colts, they've totaled 10 points and 461 yards, combined.

"We've just got to get back to us, and being one," Gore said. "We'll be fine. We feel we can do whatever we want, like before."

I could believe this, I just don't understand why they would try that with the Wrs on that team. The Lions are trying to get josh Gordon for a 2nd and Kenny Britt for a 5th.

Look around the league and get someone. The wrs they have are horrible outside of Boldin who is not the big play guy with the speed, he''s better at the intermediate stuff, not attempting to stretch defenses.

I truly think Harbaugh is taken back by this start and is only now realizing how bad they are in some of the talent positions on offense. Injuries do happen, the team can't fall apart because Davis is out.
