(FFChamps) Buccaneers running back Earnest Graham injured his knee in overtime Week 9.

Analysis: Head coach Jon Gruden expressed some serious concern about the severity of the injury, even stating that Carnell Williams may be called upon following the bye week. Michael Bennett is worth snatching up off the waivers in case Graham's injury is serious.

That Gruden part scares me.

(TheHuddle) Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden said during his press conference Monday, Nov. 3, that RB Earnest Graham is having his knee examined after injuring it during the team's Week 9 game.

Analysis: The Bucs were without Warrick Dunn last week because of back problems, so they would be in a bit of a sticky wicket if Graham were sidelined for any length of time as well. The Bucs' Week 10 bye certainly comes at an opportune juncture for their banged-up backfield.

Any Homer info out there??

I disagree. Clifton Smith will get more carries than Bennet if they need to use a 3rd back. Bennet had his chance in the KC game, and for some reason Gruden likes Clifton better. Bennet won't be on the team much longer imo.

If I remember correctly, you didn't think Caddy would make it back. Are you still seeing it that way, or do you think he has a shot to contribute significantly?

I think Clifton Smith's the guy to watch if Graham misses any time, regardless unless the suspension hammer is laid on the Williams' hopefully you're not starting any Buc RB this week.

From Rotoworld, good news but a bad matchup this week:

Earnest Graham-RB- Buccaneers Nov. 10 - 1:46 pm et

The knee injury Earnest Graham suffered before the Bucs' Week 10 bye is not expected to cost him any game time.

Warrick Dunn (pinched nerve) is also expected face Minnesota in Week 11. With Cadillac Williams (PUP, knee) supposedly coming back and fullback B.J. Askew (hamstring) not healing quickly, it's possible that Graham will continue to be used as a lead blocker often. This will be a week to watch the Bucs' backfield, not start any runners in fantasy leagues.

I don't know if I ever said I was 100% certain he wouldn't come back this season. I may have, but this has been a very difficult situation to project seeing as how the Bucs have kept such a tight lid on reports about Caddy. I don't know any more than the few blurbs that get put out by the Bucs, and the analysis Pewter Report/ local media provides The consensus at one point seemed to be that due to the success of Graham, Dunn, and Bennet in pre-season, that they wouldn't rush Caddy back if they didn't need to. Dunn & Graham are both a little banged up, and Bennet isn't getting many opportunities. on top of that, I don't think the Bucs have been "rushing" him back. They have gone step by step like all the doctors recommended, and he has met & exceeded all expectations. So, unless JG has been feeding the media crap about his progress the past several weeks, or something has drastically changed in the last few days. I think Caddy will make the active roster Wed. I think either Michael Bennet or Dexter Jackson will be demoted to the practice squad.

This is great news but how reliable is Rotoworld and what is their source?

:lmao: Bucs are usually pretty tight lipped about injuries.

Wasn't trying to accuse you or call you out, just wondering if I recalled correctly. Thanks for the info.

No problem, I didn't take it that way. To be honest, I constantly shift back and forth on issues. Quite a bit plays into my opinions, everything from news articles, to latest games, etc. As far as Bucs QB's I pretty much like whoever isn't starting :lmao:

(From http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/related/C546/):

HEAD COACH JON GRUDEN

(On Earnest Graham and Warrick Dunn)

“Warrick returned today and Earnest, we’ll see where he is on Wednesday. He hurt his knee. He has a chance to play in this game but I can’t really tell you anymore until Wednesday when we see him here in the next 48 hours.”

And also from the "Caddy Good To Go" post (same link):

"The timing couldn’t be better. The Bucs are a little banged up in the backfield, with Warrick Dunn (back) and Earnest Graham (knee) both ailing. Dunn and Graham should be ready to go by Sunday’s game against the Vikings, though, which means Williams probably will be eased back into action. "
