Nah...thats in FFAWhen I first saw this thread I thought it said Grandma Bandwagon.
Parcells is already preparing for that...I wouldn't be surprised if they have a 4th kicker by years end. Parcells can be real picky with kickers and Gramatica has had his rough moments.
linkMartin Gramatica hasn't missed a field goal attempt in practice since joining the Cowboys on Tuesday, but the club added some kicking insurance on Thursday by signing former Dallas Desperados kicker Carlos Martinez to the practice squad. As expected, Martinez filled the last of two practice squad spots opened earlier this week when the club released Remi Ayodele and Matt Tarullo. Martinez had to go through a 72-hour waiting period until the Cowboys could complete the necessary paperwork with the Arena Football League. Head coach Bill Parcells said he's just into contingencies this time of year. The Cowboys on Monday worked out Martinez for the third time since the summer. He also worked out at Valley Ranch on Sept. 15 prior to the club's home opener against Washington, when since-released kicker Mike Vanderjagt was still bothered by groin injury.
"He hasn't missed any yet," said Parcells, who might need Gramatica to make a few meaningful kicks on the road Sunday against the Giants (3:15 p.m. CST). "I think he's concentrating a lot right now, Gramatica. More than that, we've given him quite a few kicks because we're trying to get him used to the operation with Tony (Romo) and L.P. (Ladouceur)."
Martinez also is available as insurance, though he'd first have to be signed to the 53-man roster. The left-footed kicker was one of the AFL's top kickoff guys and went to training camp with the Falcons for about a week this summer. Vanderjagt's release helped give him another NFL opportunity. "It was pretty shocking," Martinez said. "But I'm just thankful for this opportunity and I'm just ready to prove to everyone that I can kick in the NFL."
Doesn't Parcells lose some credibility if he flip flops again on this? Thought he had checked Gram out throughly before signing...Mike Herman said:Parcells is already preparing for that...Bri said:I wouldn't be surprised if they have a 4th kicker by years end. nototally different kicking in games vs practice. This is Martin's 3rd team this year as he was on the Pats this summer.Doesn't Parcells lose some credibility if he flip flops again on this? Thought he had checked Gram out throughly before signing...
Akers and Vinatieri bounced around their share before landing their current jobs. It'd be cool if Parcells+Co found a gem hereMike Herman said:Parcells is already preparing for that...Bri said:I wouldn't be surprised if they have a 4th kicker by years end.
