Grant (1 Viewer)

He was down for about a minute after the play was over. About 5-10 minutes later, he had his shoe and sock off and hopped all the way from the sideline back to the lockerroom. He didnt look like he was in any pain but then again he wasnt putting any pressure on his foot either. :lmao:

many sources saying getting taped, will return

now postgame tests are a whole nuther thing. adrenaline will let a play keep going on game day tho

Someone posted NFL Redzone announced that he will be back in the 2nd half???

Is Jackson worth picking up? He's sitting in the FA pool right now. I own Grant but I don't have any free roster space without dropping another decent player.

Looked real nasty. I thought it was broken for sure. they say sprained.
While I can't speak for his injury, I had a similar outward roll a few years ago that resulted in a sprain and broken ankle -- on those types of outward rolls the ligaments sometimes pull off a small chunk of bone.

Didn't look real good at all. Sprain at least, maybe some ligament damage too. Looked like he wanted to get back in when they showed him on the bench, but I think they'd hold him out to save further damage. It's a long season.

On the sideline right now limping around wearing a boot.
Yes, he was wearing a heavy boot/foot brace and still limping visibly. IMO it is a serious sprain and may be a high ankle sprain - I rostered Jackson in the leagues I have Grant, so going forwards won't impact my fantasy teams too much, but it stinks for this week as he's out for sure after a modest first half (fantasy wise).Wait for the official news after the MRI, but if you can get Jackson off the waiver wire do it now IMO.

He's my #2 RB in a start 3 RB league...need info on him ASAP.

To make my day worse...I took grant in the 3rd rd.....right after my 2nd rd. pick of Calvin Johnson, who now has no QB

from fanball (take it for what its worth)

"According to Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, coach Mike McCarthy confirmed running back Ryan Grant has a "pretty good" sprained right ankle."

From the Packers beat reporter Greg Bedard:

RB Ryan Grant was wearing a boot on his right foot and has a pretty good sprain. Could not have gone back in.Not ready to give up on next week, but from all appearances it will be a challenge for him. But Grant doesn't miss games.
With Jackson providing the same if not better production my initial guess is that Grant misses at least 1 game.

Grant will likely miss at least 3 weeks and probably more. It was just a brutal bending of his lower leg, i thought it might snap the way it looked. He'll be lucky if its only a high ankle sprain, i have a feeling it could be much worse then is being let on at the moment.

Get brandon jackson immediately if possible.

Jackson could be a stud next week vs BUF
Must not of seen much of Buffalo today I'm guessing
Perhaps we watched different games but Buffalo gave up over 120 yards to Ricky and Ronnie with Ronnie averaging about 5 ypc on the day.
lol, guess you're right, but I still don't expect big #'s from Jackson
One thing I learned about fantasy football... RB handcuffs in great offenses often win championships

Wow finally a doctor in the house, thanks Doc. :censored:

Did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night?

Wow Thanks Dr Phil :tfp:

Ryan Grant indicated Sunday night that he does not plan to miss any time after spraining his right ankle in Green Bay's Week 1 win.

Grant has missed one game in his career, and none due to injury. "I don't expect this to be something that's too major," he said. "I'm going to do everything, trust me, to get my butt back on that field." The Packers, however, may feel differently. It's a long season, and they have Buffalo up next.

If you are a Grant owner fortunately for you the coach and medical team will make the call on this one. And you better pray that they sit him to fully heal up. It is a long season.

But it is a great sign that he feels that confident about it. I still expect him to miss at least a game, but this is the best news I've heard so far.

At least Hill realized Calvin was on the field. Stafford seemed to favor Scheffler.

Jackson looked good against the Eagles for one series, the rest of the time avg. 18 carries is quite a lot for him

18 for 63y, 3.5avg, 18 longest, 2 rcpts.

He is their 3rd down back - decent blocker on the blitz, decent hands, ok runner. If he starts, I would expect ok stats, depending upon the game. 20-25 carries, 100 +- yards, 4 rcpt. Wouldn't bet on a td, not with Kuhn doing the short yardage carries. If Buffalo folds, he could have a pretty good game - hope so - I will be there to see it (first game ever in person at GB, so I am stoked).

Grant will not play week 2 per report from KFFL. This is starting to sound more serious:

(KFFL) Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said RB Ryan Grant (ankle) has a significant ankle injury and will not play in Week 2, reports Mike Vandermause, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. The injury involves the ankle and the ligaments surrounding it and will need to undergo more testing.

Wow. What is going on here? All reports say it is an ankle sprain. Didn't they take an MRI during the game?

Wow. If they're already ruling him out for Week 2 on Monday morning, this sounds like at least a 3-4 week deal. Probably longer if what everyone here is saying about high ankle sprains is correct.

So...who is an option for them to pick up?

Ahman Green again?

Julius Jones still out there?

Is there anyone out there with promise on someone else's practice squad?
