Great RB's and the Fullbacks they ran/run behind (1 Viewer)

On The Rocks

Footballguy
I trying to make a list of some of the great RB's of all time and trying to see if they ran behind Full Back, or if they were more single back sets.

OJ Simpson / Jim Braxton

Emmitt Smith / Daryl Johnston

LT / Lorenzo Neal

Franco Harris / Rocky Blier (was Rocky a blocking FB?)

Walter Payton / Matt Suhey

My question is did Jim Brown run behind a Fullback? And if so who was it?

Paul Hornung and Jim Taylor were quite a combination.

John Brockington and Macarthur Lane were a personal favorite

Csonka, Morris, and Kiick were quite a combo

I believe Jim Brown was actually listed as a Fullback, but I might be wrong. Franco Harris also.

In trying to find the answer I came across this gem. It has to be one of the greatest Football names of all time.

Can't forget Howard Griffith's work blocking for Terrell Davis.

And the fact that he still holds the NCAA record for TDs in a game with 8 while playing for the Illini

:lmao: :goodposting: :goodposting: Damn you beat me to it.
Thx :)Was obliged to do it as I was at the game where he laid it on SIU.Final Score Howard Griffith 48, Illini Kicker whose name escapes me 8, SIU 21. The Illini actually trailed 21-0 early in that one as well. And whose record did he break? Fellow Illini great Red Grange :DBy the way kudos to the Carthon poster - he was also the FB when Herschel racked up all those yards in the USFL. It's too early but Jeremi Johnson has been a helluva FB for the Bengals so far.-QG

I know Ernie Green was Jim Brown's fullback for the last 3 or 4 years of Brown's career and blocked for Leroy Kelly after that and had some pretty decent stats of his own.....
