Great read on Smoke screens and why mock drafts are basically useless (1 Viewer)

Good article.

It is amazing to me that Vikings still got Harvin at 23 when everybody was reporting that Childress was checking up on him a few days before the draft.

Last year, many had Manti Teo as one of the Vikings 1st round picks and they have in the past been very transparent so they had me worried.

This year I am hoping AJ McCarron is a smoke screen.

I don't buy any of the Bortles-Texans talk as anything but a smokescreen.
The things I actually believe about the Texans is that they want to trade out the number 1 overall and that they have not actually made up their mind about who they will have if stuck (90% probable) with the pick.

Good link.

I think everyone got fooled last year that Ryan nassib was a 1st round qb and that buffalo was going to take him. Russ lande bought it into it to the point he had nassib as his #1 qb.

Geno was talked up as the #1 pick at times last year. I could be wrong but i wouldn't be shocked to see something similar with Manzei this year.

It's actually kinda sad that any of them even take the time to try and fool people. Just laugh at whoever asks you a question and give them a silly look. Save yourself the trouble.

So Bridgewater has been the invisible man this year relative to the other QBs. What does that mean?
Nothing. It means he could be the 1st pick or 30th pick.
Relative to the premise of the posted articles, I'm thinking everyone is pumping Bortles, Manziel, Carr to deflect attention from Teddy who they really want.
Or thats what they are trying to make you think..........................................knowing people will expect them to do that.

Great article. I remember when everyone was talking up Aaron Rodgers to make other teams try and take him early, too. 23 teams were wise to the smoke screens.
