"Greatest 4th Quarters" (1 Viewer)

so odd to see rice with Seattle. he had 362 yards and 3 TDs with them
And threw a hissyfit about wanting to keep his old number... even though it had been retired by the Seachickens. I'm sure a lot of Seahawk fans had Steve Largent flashbacks watching Rice matriculate downfield for those 25 grabs in #80. It might have been better that the number was retired, though- I can't decide if the spectacle would have been worse if Rice demanded one of his teammates change numbers in midseason so he could keep #80, or if he simply demanded that the franchise unretire the number of the greatest player in franchise history just so he could wear it for 11 games.I also remember that that season was the year Rice's consecutive-games-with-a-catch streak came to an end, and I remember him being petulant that the Raiders didn't try to force feed him the ball on a screen late in the 4th quarter just to keep it alive. There's little sadder than a once-great player convinced that he can still get his way in whatever he wants when the reality is that he's nothing more than an end-of-the-roster scrub, a guy taking up space that could be used by a quality special teamer, a publicity stunt meant to drive ticket sales. Are you listening Brett Favre?
