Greatest TV Shows of All Time: FBG Consensus: It's Happening, 30 lists received so far. (6 Viewers)

I don't want to spotlight, but there is a whole genre of shows that no one is talking about, and the best of them is in my top 10. I hope others agree so it makes the countdown!
This isn't a draft. I don't understand the secrecy in the thread so far.
Yeah, worst thing is it reminds people of shows they forgot. Plus, none of the shows being spotlighted even sniff my top 70 (except maybe the Laffalympics).

That's what I was thinking - either it's a great show that will get a bump if you remind people, or it stays too fringe (shout out intended) and misses the main countdown.

if the point is to reach consensus then I think discussion is necessary. But that might be way too hard and sending in blind bids is just way easier.

Scores, do you want the list numbered? What about a one sentence commentary on why it is on my list or why it is special?

4 lists received so far.

204 unique TV shows.
6 shows common to all 4 lists.
154 shows on only one list.

:lmao:

Probably could've asked for less than 70. I'm thinking this is another top 200 list.
I'm a bit surprised by this, but it is really wide open for options as well, so I guess that makes sense.

OK I’ll do this I think
does Woody Allen do TV shows?

(kidding, kidding...hahaha)

whoa, yeah I know this isn't where you were going but this show will never sniff a common top 75 list but it's likely to be on mine and I wanted to share.

Woody Allen, Jonathan Winters, Joanne Worley hosted a Saturday morning kids show called "Hot Dog". It would interview kids and these celebs about what something was or how it was made - you'd hear from kids and the celebrities on their takes. Of course the celebs would have some crazy wrong explanations and it was awesome.

Forget secrecy - I would like to remind all participating of the amazingness that was: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ren & Stimpy, Head of the Class, Mr. Wizard's World, and Remote Control.

Hardest part of this for me were the childhood classics I had to put up against the great modern shows.

There is a bit of hoping my high ranking pushes a show onto the list and then everyone goes “oh yeah! How did I miss that?” Probably just my narcissism talking.

I'm sure I'd have 10 shows in my top 50 that most of this board has never even heard of let alone seen.

There’s a few numerical shows that might throw the spreadsheet off at least it did with mine when I was trying to count cells

It wasn’t the one with Jackée

Has @Scoresman said how the scoring system is going to work?

Are the #1s going to count for 70 points, #2s for 69, etc.
I believe he said for everyone’s top picks he’ll be rolling a 70-sided die, then 69-sided dice for the 2’s, etc. For the #69 rankings he’ll flip a coin and for the #70s he’ll set up polls with only a YesNo option. WaLa!

Part of the fun is seeing unexpected things in the countdown, IMO.
I get what you are saying here, but I still find it funny how nerdy and close to the vest we all keep these things (I do the same thing elsewhere, so I am laughing with as well, not just at...) . My comment above was because it was to the point of not mentioning a genre of show, let alone the gem somebody might have on their list in that genre.

In these formats somebody would probably have to have a one-off show in their top 15 at least for the points to make it into the main countdown as well. I think this one might be harder than others for that unexpected show to make it on because of wide open format.

Still too early to tell, but as of now, it's starting to look more like a top 100 instead of 200.

If we do 200, the first 120ish shows would all be on only one person's list. If you guys want to keep it at 200 to spotlight these one off shows, fine. If not, we can trim it down to 100.

I will say, in looking at the top 200, there are some really good shows in the later part of it, so it's not like there's a lot of crap making up the list. It's just differences in taste.

This is with 7 lists in so far. Expecting a bunch more so this might very well change.
