Wow. I figured I would be higher on the unique percentage. Although, thinking about it, around 30-40% of uniqueness might be optimal for my thoughts on putting this list together.

Alright, I just submitted. Sorry in advance for all of the Ken Burns. I was watching some of Baseball on MLB Network the other night and still awesome.

Agreed, 34% seems ideal.

damnit. I had american crime story on my list and I was gonna be all like "what great taste I have in tv" the whole series was good, not just that season

I was trying to make room for General Hospital or Days of Our Lives, used to watch GH almost daily with the wife back in the day and watched a lot of Days in college
what a great guy she has.

My daughter @ditkaburgers and Mrs. Eephus are putting together a joint list so there will be some soaps and Bravo reality shows. Other than that, their list will probably be better than mine.

Four out of five FBGs surveyed recommend the same TV shows for their GBs who choose other shows.

we will countdown the overall top 100 or so

482 unique shows submitted so far across all lists.

So when the countdown starts, will you post all of the shows that don't make the final countdown along with the number of lists for each? "The first 700 out" (or whatever number). :-)

I certainly can, but would doing this at the start kind of spoil things if we know a bunch of shows already that didn't make it?

Forget secrecy - I would like to remind all participating of the amazingness that was: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ren & Stimpy, Head of the Class, Mr. Wizard's World, and Remote Control.

Hardest part of this for me were the childhood classics I had to put up against the great modern shows.
I'm trying to remember how much i looked forward to a show, whether it was 2 days ago or 40+ years ago and rank them that way.

If those shows only appear on one list no one would really be expecting to see them anyway.

Maybe just a last out involving each person’s highest ranked show for which they were the only vote?

Do a slow tease
Shows ranked 700-651 do at the start. Then 50 at a time in appropriate intervals.
By the time you get to the top 20 or 10, you should be ready for 150-101

Interesting approach, but may be tougher to do for older shows when you actually had to wait a week (or longer) back in the day.

It is tougher, but I still ended up with quite a few older shows. Shows that probably won’t be too high, or even on most lists, but just shows with a lot of nostalgia to me.

I also initially started this yesterday afternoon and thought I was going to have a hard time coming up with even 50 shows, but they just kept popping up, and now I’m going to need to trim it down to 70. Much like Scoresman said earlier, I’m sure there’s some I’m going to see on some lists that I totally forgot about too.

This is what I’m trying to avoid across lists as much as possible. And yes this example did happen.

Chappelle’s Show
Chappelles Show
Chapelle’s Show
Chappele’s Show
Chappelle Show

If I don’t catch all of these, they show up as different entries, which can really lower a show’s ranking.

Another thing that I’m seeing is people omitting the “The” for some shows. So “Sopranos” instead of “The Sopranos”.

Fair to assume nobody is really including kids shows? Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, and the like?

I'm gonna guess I am hovering around the 35 - 40% mark. I dug pretty deep.

And one of these I bet a lot of people have forgotten about and are going to say "oh **** I should have included that".
Who Wants to be a Millionaire or To Tell the Truth or Match Game (I almost included this one)

No. Although I considered that third one.
I gotta figure this out.....

Stump the Schwab or Dating Game or Hollywood Squares
Remote Control?

Love it, and will be on my list. But that is not what I'm referring to.

Are we just spotlighting all shows in here now? I don't know the rules.
Most Extreme Elimination Challenge?

I just went to check if I included the “The” or not, and realized that I forgot about that one entirely in my list. I can’t wait to find out what other shows I forgot about.
