oh and :drive: to the jerks who took Secret of Mana and Kingdom Hearts!!

HOW AM I GOING TO HAVE 10 SQUARE GAMES NOW!??!?! Whatever will I do?!?!

Please move Zelda to Flex

17.5 Kingdom Hearts, PS2 RPG

17.6 720, 4th generation, NES
Acer a NES game is third generation which you already have as Metroid.
that is what I alluded to in my posts and others seemed to think it was OK.Let me think about where I want to go now
What I meant was that there are other consoles in the specific generations besides the ones listed, but they still have to fall into the correct generational(time frame) category. Sorry.
So I didn't misread it.

Thats what I thought he meant after the explanation but then he wanted to put an NES game in the 4th gen because he had no where to fit it which is what I originally thought.

17.09 Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Suspense/Horror, Nintendo Gamecube

Remember the last time you played a game and it froze on you? Or when your XBox 360 seemed like it was about to have its next RRoD, how afraid you were of having to send the system back in again. What if they made a game that made you feel like that by design. Enter Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.

The game introduced us to a new concept called a sanity meter, that made things even more weird as it got full. Did the game just turn off my TV? Blue screen of death? At times, you didn't even know whether you were controlling your character or not, with hallucinations beheading your character, turning the levels inside out, or simply trying to convince you that all of your save files have been deleted! NOOOOO!

Underneath all of the technical stuff the game introduced, there was a compelling story. The characters is investigating the mysterious murder of her grandfather and while exploring his mansion when the suspense begins. If you own a Nintendo Gamecube or a Wii, I would recommend playing the game.

Game Trailer -

Trivia: These sanity effects were recently reused in Batman: Arkham Asylum.

oh and  to the jerks who took Secret of Mana and Kingdom Hearts!!HOW AM I GOING TO HAVE 10 SQUARE GAMES NOW!??!?! Whatever will I do?!?!
I was thinking/hoping you'd be upset about that Mana pick
this game was awesome...can you still play 3 player with the Wii Virtual Console version of it? Anyone know? lol
I would assume so. It's a straight port. You would just need 3 Gamecube or Classic controllers.About 720, it could have also been put in as an arcade game.

Problem was he already has his arcade and flex spots filled with arcade games. Repick was fine since it was a misunderstanding.

Roger. I don't mind the repick.

Everything should be up to date in post #1, #3, and #4. Make sure to check since their is probably a few things misplaced since I was copy/pasting in four different windows while trying to keep up with the flurry of picks.

I debated this and one other game that hasn't been picked yet. I played this one more recently (played it the first time last October), so it won out.

17.10 Cecil Harvey, Main Character Final Fantasy IV

Final Fantasy IV gives its players 12 playable characters each with different unchangeable character classes. The game has tons of plot and, moreso than any other Final Fantasy game, tells the story with good use of the characters. They don't have the awkward moments where suddenly there are 10 poeple standing there even though only 4 or 5 were just fighting or the strange justifications for half your group just sitting back and doing nothing.

Of those 12 characters a number of them stand out and as much as it would be fun to scream "YOU SPOONY BARD!" at everyone, the best character by far was Cecil.

The story begins with Cecil as the captain of the King's Red Wings, an elite group of soldiers who attack via airships. The opening sequence shows the Red Wings attack a city called Mysidia to steal the Water Crystal. After decimating the city and stealing its crystal, Cecil questions the king's motives and is stripped of his rank. He is still, however, sent on a missian with his best friend Kain to the Village of Mist where the two friends watch in horror as the package releases monsters that destroy the village leaving only one survivor.

The game chronicles Cecil's voyage from evil Dark Knight in service of the king to redeemed Paladin as he leads his group through loss after loss and repeated betrayals saving a world that just doesn't seem to want to be saved. It might have been shocking in Final Fantasy VII when a character dies, but that same kind of scene happened in 3 or 4 different places in Final Fantasy IV. It was nothing new by the time Final Fantasy VII came along for a party member to die.

17.11 Road Rash, Game Gear (4th generation)

Back in the early 90's I was in the navy and I had a game gear. I liked it more than gameboy, because of its screen size. This was my favorite game to play when lying in my rack.

Never saw it but I don't have a PS3 yet. Looks like an interesting idea for a game. Incredible graphics.
Same here. I would probably like it but I have a Xbox 360 and as of last night, a SNES.
Oh you poor people who don't have four systems in your house. Five if you include the DS.Xbox/Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS:shark:
Oh I have 4 systems. Just not very recent. XBox360, PS2, PSX, Gamecube, Dreamcast, SNES, NES, Genesis, Gameboy Advance. even had my dad's old intellivision for a bit. Loved that thing.

This is one game I have never beat and I think I am going to YouTube it to see if the ending is on there. Phantasy Star made some leaps but like other games, it needed a beginning. Final Fantasy is good but there were games before it that revolutionized the genre. I am not taking the first of this game however I am taking the most noted of them, at least for its time. I remember being 9 years old playing this game and watching people play it in basements just to follow the story. This was truly epic and an eye opener as far as games go. Which game is it? I give you:

Awesome game. Customizing your bikes. Getting better weapons. Beating up opponents during the race. Awesome game. It eventually played itself out with numerous sequals but what a cool game at the time.

This game was awesome, and quite addicting for a racing game. Though I played it on PSX, I assume it was the same on Game Gear.

18.13 - Super Mario Bros. 2 - NES - Platformer I realize it won't win the category, but it's still an awesome game.

19.01 - Battletoads - NES - Hack 'n Slash / Beat 'Em Up This game was sweeeeet. I remember getting so angry at certain parts that seemed almost impossible. Pretty sure you had to memorize the pattern of "androids" in the part where you're flying on some sort of rocket ship thing. It was a few minutes long, exhausting, and frustrating...but worth it.

SMB 2 is underrated. It took a chance at something completely different than the first and gave a unique experience. You really don't see anything like it in the rest of the franchise.

(not my pick, btw). The GBA version of Super Mario Bros 2 is a better version. They finally added some more Mario-ish elements that were missing from the original.

This is one game that needs to be remade and updated in a big way. One of the more difficult games in its day to beat and one of the better games as well. It may not hold up all that well however when thinking of platforming 2D games, this one has to be mentioned near the top. Including weapons other than fireballs and including upgrades other than big mushrooms and including games as well as stuff to buy in the game gives this game its credence of its greatness. Not only was it a great game but it also taught you about, in a way, Greek mythology. I give you:

THAT'S BECAUSE IT ISN'T PART OF THE FRANCHISE!!!Super Mario 2 is actually a completely different game with Mario stuff super-imposed on top of it... It is nothing like the other Mario games because it isn't actually Super Mario 2, the real Super Mario 2 is a completely different game that was never released in America for the NES...
