Jean-Jacques Taylor, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer said DL Greg Ellis will be used at linebacker during the 2006 season.

Yea, I have this one guy in my league who holds players way too long until their value is zip ie, Ricky Williams, Daunte Culpepper, Eric Barton, Mike Rucker....and now Greg Ellis. His team is very confusing to look at sometimes - is he going younger or is he trying to gun for the championship for that year?????I don't even think he knows sometimes!RAPTURE

I look for Ellis to leave the Boys later this year and hook up with a team looking for a 4-3 DE. Should have happened already. It's possible he returns to the top 15 DL if this happens.

When was Ellis ever a Top-15 DE?? OK...maybe I'm being a little harsh, but the former lottery pick of '98 has never topped the 10-sack benchmark once in his career. If your league awards very heavy for tackles (as opposed to sacks), Ellis could have some value once again with a move to a 4-3 team.

Can someone clarify this? "Used" often, solely, or occasionally? Is there the possiblity that he'll be listed as a DL, but "used" at OLB?TIA
