Grossman Owners (1 Viewer)

well good ol' rex has certaintly kept my playoff hopes alive after I was screwed by plummer in the first couple weeks. The question now rex owners; Is the wind and weather coming up in chicago going to scare you. Anyone unloading him now due to the horrid conditions chicago will likely see for the remainder of the season?

Has anyone made any trades? what would you expect to get in return. Discuss. Thanks all. Just want to hear what some owners are thinking.

I picked him up off waivers after Week 2 (I was 0-2). I also had Bulger and Kitna but Rex was the best guy on the WW and his FF Playoff schedule looked TASTY. I actually dropped Kitna to grab Rex (too bad he and Bulger have the same BYE!!! :wall: ) I ended up getting Kitna back to cover the Week 7 bye of my top 2 QBs with plans on playing the hot hand/matchup between Bulger and Grossman the rest of the way.I got a trade offer of KJ for Rex straight up (he had severe bye week and QB issues) and I jumped on it. Aside from getting better value in the trade I felt that Bulger/Kitna will likely outscore Rex down the stretch because they are on weaker teams with tougher schedules. They be putting the ball in the air ALL DAY! Grossman might not even need to play the last 2-3 weeks if the Bears have HF wrapped up, plus I can see them running the two-headed monster vs. those weak teams and not throwing much at all.Rex is having a great year but he probably won't need to throw 30+ times a game down the stretch and therefore won't post great numbers.I have Wayne as well and I'm worried about him in weeks 15-17 if the Colts continue to ROLL...

Just traded for Rex - weather will be a factor only in the last few games. I needed someone to carry me while Hass was out - with Rex's scehdule and the way that offense is clicking it is a perfect fit.

I am very confident in him - outstanding numbers - great running game, very good WRs, excellent TE, working with a short field due to defense.

Only negatives is the weather and the blowouts.

check out my Bears offense thread - I think it is the real deal and may lead a lot of owners to the promised land but lots of people think its about to come crashing down!

I've addressed this weather point in other threads. I don't think it will be that big a factor. The Bears play two of their last four in domes. The weather in Chicago through November & December is hit-or-miss, just like Denver, KC, Buffalo, GB, and pretty much any other domeless city above the Mason-Dixon line. The new construction inside Soldier Field has also decreased the effect of the wind. There's always a chance that we'll get some insane winter storm that'll throw a game into disarray, but I'm betting it doesn't happen and that Grossman will be fine.

:goodposting: - thanks for the info.

True enough, but I'm hoping for at least 2005 Roethlisberger type numbers, where it seemed like you could count on two quick early td's to give them a lead before they ran out the clock. Sure hoping so, since I'm also starting TJ and the Chitown D/ST pretty much every week! :D

What value does Grossman have in a trade. 2nd tier RB? 1st Tier RB?
I'd say neither. I'm a Grossman believer, but I'd be surprised if anyone in my league would give me more than a RB3 for him. His value is still highly speculative, and I've always had a hard time getting people to bite on guys like that. Of course, a lot depends on how deep the waiver pool is at QB. Our league has tight rosters so there's OK talent on the wire and therfore less QB urgency.
