Desperate for a decent closer off the WW - read that Easy Ed is on the way back for Cincy - doing well in A ball stint and is looking to return by mid to late June - also states that he WILL be the closer upon his return - grabbed and stashed - anyone hear anything on this?

Yes, I've had my eye on him for awhile now. He's been on our league WW for most of the year, with the exception of a couple times where a guy who makes at least 5 to 10 moves a week picked him up a few weeks ago then dropped him again. I think today is the day that I add him to my roster because I'm not sure if H Street will recover fully this season.

Guardado is no better then Weathers. Outside of a bad multi inning outing against the Pirates last week, Weathers has been nails - good k numbers too.

I have a feeling that Guardado is thought of as a better closer option by the Cincy brass than Weathers. That tells me he is someone to stash for the 2nd half.

It would seem so but it sure seems like Guardado's "best" days are years and YEARS behind him. He's been garbage since he came into the NL, no reason to expect anything better after now coming off an injury too.

I stand corrected. It was his Seattle splits (awful) from that year that I was recalling.

Was he brought back too soon or is this guy done?

I think the sentiment of moving Weathers to the setup role has probably changed, especially with Narron gone.
