Their 2013 payroll was $216,753,286.

They have $163M committed already for 2014 salaries.

Their 2014 free agents are: Michael Young, Nolasco, Marmol, Volquez, Hairston, Howell, Punto, Schumaker, Wilson & Peter Moylan.

Kershaw is entering his walk year. AJ Ellis, Jansen and Belisario are arbitration eligible.

My guess is $230M but the big question mark is obviously whether the Kershaw deal gets done before the season.

Did they sign the Cuban kid to play second? If not, I could see them offering a ton to Cano despite reports they are not interested

12/$300M or 10/$250M for a 25 year pitcher both seem crazy. Who are the Dodgers bidding against?

>$250M seems like a foregone conclusion now.

Ellis/Schumaker to Guerrero/Mike Baxter seems like a downgrade but it's hard for even Ned Coletti to screw up when he's working with an unlimited budget.

Sources told ESPN's Buster Olney, that because Kershaw agreed to an $18 million signing bonus, with just a $4 million salary for 2014, his salary for 2014 -- for salary arbitration purposes -- is at $6.57 million (calculated as $18 million divided by 7 years and adding $4 million salary).
Looks like Kershaw may only be getting $6.57 mill this year. Or maybe $22 million if he got all of the bonus upfront.

I think the bonus counts towards 2014 payroll. He's effectively getting paid 28.57mm this year, with a lot of it up front.
