Guillotine - Final 3 - Lineup Help Needed (4 Viewers)

Guillotine League - PPR

I made it to the final 3 in week 14. Scores already in for the lowest scoring team this week and he has no players remaining. Going forward, I am the only one with with FAAB $ left so I can have my choice of whoever I wish from the waiver wire. The list is below. I am adding Puka, Gibbs, and JSN for sure from the losing team this week.

Please help me set my lineup!!

QB - JAllen
RB - Bijan
RB - Achane
WR - Puka
WR - JSN
WR -
TE - McBride
FLEX - JCook
FLEX - Gibbs
SUPER FLEX -
BENCH -
BENCH -

Best Available:
QB: Jackson, Hurts, Burrow, Goff
RB: JJacobs, Barkley, Bucky
WR: Pickens, Adams, Rice, McConkey, Collins, Olave
TE: Bowers

Who are the guys to pick up for the remaining 4 spots? My thoughts are Jackson, Pickens, JJacobs, and Bowers (just to keep away from the other 2)

Thanks!

Here are my thoughts:

  • QB: I am not so sure Jackson is the pick here. He seems to be way off for some reason. Could be injuries taking a toll. He just doesn't look like himself. I might go Burrow over L-Jax at this point but can't quibble with Lamar
  • RB: This seems like a keep away pick for sure. I may go Barkley over Jacobs because of the blow up game potential of Barkley. Your squad is solid so blow games are what will hurt you.
  • WR: I think I would rather have Adams over Puka if you wanted just one Ram. Adams gets all the TD's and I don't see that changing. Pickens is a must grab as he is on fire and doesn't look to be slowing down. Rice is another big get in PPR. He is a target machine. I would rather have him over Puka (I think because he is getting TD's too).
  • TE: yeah, might as well keep Bowers away from others.

If I am counting right you only get 4 slots. I would go Burrow, Barkley, Bowers, Adams and Rice (and drop Puka - crazy I know).

Thanks Gally!

QB is a tough call for me. Lamar is home to Pit and at Cincy where Burrow is at Buf and home to Balt... may go Burrow like you suggested.
RB - I like Jacobs over Barkley but can put Barkley on my bench ... agree with blowup potential
WR - so tough to drop Puka .. Adams seems so TD dependent .. and while he has the last couple games, I can't afford a dud
TE - could send Bowers to FA and keep Puka and Adams

UGH .. choices, but that's what happens with Guillotine at the end.

What do the other teams need? Is Bowers a bigger improvement or would Puka/Adams be a bigger help?

A dud does really hurt. Since it is PPR you kind of talked me into Puka being the play over Adams. I think he has a higher floor due to PPR and the ceiling isn't much different.

Looking at what the other teams need is probably more important than what you need (since besides a WR and QB for the Super Flex you look to be set).

Bowers for sure, just to block. Since you have McBride, Bowers is certainly an improvement for the other 2 teams.

I'd stay away from Lamar. He just doesn't look right. A sub 10 score from a QB ends your season at this point. Let him tank someone else. I like Hurts over Burrow. Eagles are struggling but he keeps putting up fantasy points.

Pickens and Adams are well ahead of the other WRs. I like Pickens and I like keeping Puka (which means you shouldn't start Adams since that's too much volatility in your lineup starting WRs from the same team ... but Adams could be a block pickup).

About RB, I get what Gally's saying. Jacobs is the safer start, but Barkley has more blow up potential.

It's actually the opposite of volatility. It raises your floor but lowers your ceiling. The volatility is not there because you are likely getting all the TD's being thrown in that game. It's a safer play when you need floor but hurts if you are an underdog.

Bowers to me is an upgrade for either team at TE ..

Other teams rosters:

Team 1:
Herbert (will replace with Jackson, Hurts, or Burrows
Stafford
Love

JTaylor
Henry
McCaffrey (bye)
Jeanty

Egbuka
Lamb
JJefferson
Metcalf

Warren
------------------------------------
Team 2:
Mahomes
Prescott

THenderson
C Brown
J Williams
Q Judkins

AJ Brown
Chase
London
Waddle
DSmith

Kittle

I guess the question is ... in 3 team guillotine, do you play for floor or ceiling? Early season, I like the floor. But in the guillotine leagues I've seen when it's down to 3, monster scores abound. You want high ceiling plays, right? Guys who can put those weeks where you see the stats and think "Oh crap ... I hope I'm not playing him!" And it's not like Puka has a low floor.

That said, I like Allen/Cook combo. There are plenty of games where both get theirs. I had that for a team last year and it worked well. I liked knowing when the Bills were on the goal line you'd get something either way (and you could get the 10 point Allen-to-Cook TD).

QB - Hurts or Burrows

Pickens- LOCK him in

Bowers - LOCK him in to block other 2 teams

Last Spot (can only have 1):

Barkley
or
Adams

Looking at the other teams, I think you're easily the best of the 3 (especially with CMC on bye). But anything can happen.

Like Gally said, at this point there are so many good players these decisions can feel like a toss-up. But I think I favor Hurts at QB (over Burrow). Barkley vs Adams is tough. I think your opponents need RB a little more. But Saquon (and/or Eagles O line) has just looked so bad and he's only had 1 boom game (with a bunch of busts). I think Adams is more likely to do damage in opposing lineups against you in the last 2 weeks.

Thanks @brainee and @Gally for your help! Hopefully more advice needed for the Championship the following week!

QB - Hurts or Burrows
I go with Burrow. i think he has the floor and ceiling combo that I like for your roster

Last Spot (can only have 1):

Barkley
or
Adams
This is very tough. Barkley has the potential boom but he has had enough bust that maybe he acts like a poison pill. Taking Adams prevents having the matchup where Puka does nothing but your opponent kicks you when you are down by playing Adams to increase the damage to Puka doing nothing.

I think I may lean towards the block of the Rams offense at this point. Rams have some good matchups coming up.

Will watch for weather in Buffalo with both Allen and Burrows in the same game. Plenty of other QBs to pivot to if Jackson and Hurts are taken after me. Other than that, all the other players about are ready to be bought for $1 each ... gotta love being the only guy with FAAB $ left.
