Gunman kills 6 in Michigan (1 Viewer)

Sickening.  My daughter goes to school in Kalamazoo and was texting late last night and I have a fraternity brother that manages the Cracker Barrel and was there last night when the shooting occurred there. Its hard to process the whole thing and the fact that the shooter surrendered without putting up a fight.

No history of violence, no police record, impossible to stop this stuff.  Him going to three different places to shoot people makes this a full blown rampage, who knows what the hell he was thinking.

For the last 10 years, Sally and Gary Pardo have lived across the street from Dalton's single-family home on Douglas Street in Kalamazoo.

Sally Pardo told CNN that Dalton is married with two children, and that they seemed to be a "typical American family."

"This seems so out of sorts for him," said husband Gary Pardo, who described Dalton as "quiet" and "nice."

He did tell CNN, however, "I know he liked guns."

“He had a couple of break-ins so he purchased the gun for self defense. On a couple of occasions he fired a round late in the evening. He said I shot it to ‘scare them away,’” said Gary Pardo, adding that it is not unusual for his neighbors to have a gun because many of them are hunters.
I wonder if the police have any reports of these break-ins.

I rip on Flint and Detroit a lot but Michigan is actually a beautiful state. There seems to be a lot of pretty women in MI as well. I have never lived in MI but spend a lot of time there for work.

In a state of rage, he couldn't be possibly thinking clearly.

I got blocked from not one, but two SJW Twitter pages: @tariqnasheed  and @Mellie4Justice.

What did I say that was so awful, you ask?  See for yourself:

Armed White killers are almost ALWAYS taken into custody alive. But unarmed Blacks get killed if cops THINK they had a weapon #jasondalton

For the other one I read this:

Mass Killer Jason Dalton was arrested and still alive....innocent 12 year old Tamir Rice is dead..someone explain this??. #BlackLivesMatter
and wrote (from memory since it's been deleted) "One guy reached into his pants for something and the other didn't".

You went into a race argument on the internet. You lost before you hit the first letter on your keyboard. Everyone is dug in, its Verdun.

Glad your daughter and friend are okay.

Shooter lives about ten minutes from my house.  Wife and I were out with the kids at a roller rink from 5-7 and then had dinner at a restaurant on the street where the car dealership is.  My niece is a student at Western and took an uber with her friends that evening.  The area is just stunned by this completely senseless act.  The four ladies killed were returning to Cracker Barrel after they had dinner and went to a show - they returned to pick up their parked cars.  The two men killed were a boy and his dad looking at cars.  Just terrible.

My wife and I were talking about this over the weekend. It's sad how we've all become kind of numb to this. Like it's almost as if 6 people be killing in a murder spree isn't so bad these days. Sad times we live in

Yes, sir. One of the best states in the US to live in.
No, it really isn't.  You picked a terrible place for a state war but Florida is awful.  High crime, tornadoes, hurricanes, old people, roaches, daily storms, and people like you.

Exhibit A: http://realtime.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2015/06/29/is-florida-the-worst-state-according-to-this-list-yes/

Exhibit B:  http://www.roadsnacks.net/these-are-the-10-worst-states-in-america/

There is a good reason we have a thread in this forum titled:  Things that only happen in Florida

It's the pits, worse than North Dakota IMO.  :bye:

Seemed like a really inappropriate and ill-timed place to take a shot at Michigan.
Poor attempt at humor for sure. No need to keep the back and forth going though.

Ok.

From all I've read from several different media sources, no history of violence or mental illness, and his family is in shock at what happened.  No motive, besides the guy just living a generally ####ty life I guess.  Lots of people live generally ####ty lives, you just can't shot people because of it.

Crazy as crazy gets.

Yeah, sounds like something just drove him to snap. Not sure if we'll ever know the truth about what set him off.

Two known events happened around the time he went crazy.   1) He got a phone call and immediately went nuts.  Should be easy enough to figure that one out.  2) Hillary beat Bernie in Nevada.   If that set him off or it was a combination of events 1 and 2 off we won't ever hear about it.
