just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on these two guys next season.angelo crowell has played extremely well for buffalo since the injury to takeo spikes and ive heard rumblings that spikes may be let walk next yr with the cheaper option of crowell taking his spot. any insight would be great.as for bart scott, i believe this guy is a near lock to be the starting wlb in baltimore next season. before lewis went down the ravens were not happy with the production they were getting from tommy polley and since they moved him to the middle for lewis, scott has been a monster on the weak side. my gut says that when and if lewis is back next yr, scott is the starting wlb.

Where is Polley going? Didn't the Ravens invest alot of dough in him?

Polley is only playing under a one-year deal.

How about Brandon Moore? His run from their bye to now:9.50 6.70 5.00 5.00 5.00 8.00 11.50 7.50 7.50

I am interested in this as well, thought I'd bump this back up instead of starting a new thread. Will Crowell have a starting job in 2006 (anywhere), or is he backing up Spikes again? He definately seemed to run with the opportunity he was given.

He will start in place of Jeff Posey who will probably not be resigned.....

I guess the next question becomes can he be a viable fantasy force playing next to Spikes and Fletcher, or will that limit his opportunities?I'm still new to and figuring out how IDPs work, so I don't know if playing with 2 of the top LBs in the game will help his numbers or end up hurting them.

I didn't protect Crowell in a keeper league. I don't see him getting the numbers with Spikes and Fletcher back and have not heard any of the rumblings about letting Spikes go. With the Buffalo defense falling so far with Spikes out, I'd be extremely surprised if they made that move. I'm hoping Crowell is available next December so I can pick him up just before free agency in 2007.

I think there's a chance Crowell will start at SLB this year, but he may be too small. If they want to get their best 3 LBs on the field, however, there's a chance that they'll consider moving Spikes to SLB and keeping Crowell on the weakside. If Spikes is slow coming back from his achilles injury, the SLB job might be a better fit anyway.

Too early to tell, but would certainly shake things up for fantasy owners if something major like that happened. With the Bills switching to a "Tampa 2" style of defense this year, the WLB could be even more productive than it has been in recent years. Right now, I'd say the chances of Crowell starting at either OLB spot in 2006 are at least 60%.

What about Michael Boley in ATL or Ben Taylor in Cleveland? What are their chances of locking down a spot on their respective teams? I had Boley in a dynasty last year and he ended the season with 63 tackels I beleive. I've never heard much about this Ben Taylor guy in cleveland but he had over 100 tackles.

Ben Taylor is on his way outta Cleveland and is highly unlikely to repeat 2005 ... Boley is blocked behind Demo and Brooking, but has a chance to come off the bench and put up good numbers given an injury ... but remember, Brooking going back in the middle to replace Hartwell is less likely given that Beck is coming back ...

Atlanta has Hartwell coming back from injury, so I'm not sure how things will sort out down there. Hartwell is a pure MLB so I think he'll get that job back. Then, they still need to figure out whether to play Keith Brooking or Demorrio Williams at WLB. I think Boley will be a victim of numbers and wind up as the #4 LB.Ben Taylor started at ILB next to Andre Davis and had a very solid season. The Browns will be looking to upgrade their LB group in the draft and free agency, but they will probably be a little more concerned about finding an upgrade at OLB. I haven't checked his free agent status, but he's been on the team for awhile now.

Taylor is a UFA. The Browns are not expected to make an offer to him.
Earlier this week Savage said the team is trying to re-sign defensive end Orpheus Roye, but other defensive free agents including Ben Taylor and Ray Mickens will be allowed to explore other options.

I think there is a very good chance Spikes will start at SLB and Crowell will man the will. Buffalo signed Angelo to a 3 year contract extension right after the season.
