Guys you regret not drafting (1 Viewer)

Boldin for everyone, I'm sure.

1. I never draft Reggie Wayne. And regret it every year.

2. I got Jared Cook in half my leagues. Wish I grabbed him in all.

3. Wes Welker. Like Wayne above, I never take him. Got him in one league but overlooked him in several others.

Boldin is the only one I feel a little foolish for not having been high enough on.

One of the league's premier possession guys and chain movers a few years ago, and then went to a bad system for a WR to put up numbers in. Still showed flashes where you could tell he "still had it."

Then moved to a place where the second half of last year, the new QB forced so many balls to his #1 receiver that a guy with no track record of success had a legendarily good half a year of football -- literally one of the most statistically impressive of all time by some metrics.

And finally, that receiver blew a tire, leaving Boldin to be that QB's new uncontested #1 WR.

I'm not saying I should have seen 13/200/1 coming, but there were plenty of reasons to be optimistic, and way more than plenty of reasons to draft him ahead of guys like Tavon Austin and Torrey Smith. Yet I didn't.

"Grab a RB early...blah blah blah".

Loved watching the dud RB2's put up minimal stats while the WR1's were crushing yards and TD's. Why am I such a RB wh#re?

Definitely was the theme of the season. Every where you could look, talked about the lack of RBs and the depth at WR. There are a lot of fantasy football experts sweating it after week one. Everything that people were told ended up being wrong this week. Hopefully it will straighten out by week 2. I went RB heavy though, so if Richardson and Martin do not pan out as my keepers, then maybe Wilson will help out

Boldin of course.

Good thing is I drafted Cook. Now a guy wants to trade straight up Boldin for Cook, lol, kind of a toss-up.

Bush, where I drafted from it would have been a "reach" but I knew he was going to be a monster in this offense. I should have "reached".

Zuerlein.
i was in 3 drafts and didn't think to pick him till the last one. i was working off of a couple cheat sheets and neither had him in the top 10. Not sure why.
Statistically, accuracy is really hard to predict year to year. Best thing to do is to try to predict scoring opportunities. Rams aren't likely going to be top ten in scoring.

I bypassed RB's early in most of my drafts. In 3 leagues, I went Calvin and then JGraham.

Not doing well today.

Not taking Reggie bush in more. I think boldin falls a bit after crabs returns, but bush should have a career year.

The funny thing is that the moment after I made the pick in the draft--I knew I made a mistake-- one of those cases where I gave too much credit to what the fantasy "experts" ranked guys. I took ridley one spot ahead of forte in a non-ppr. I'm such a donkey.

Reggie Bush--took MJD instead! I'm an idiot!

Jordy Nelson--took Vernon Davis when Jordy was still on the board! I'm an idiot!

Yes, but if his range is 5-10 yards longer than anyone else Z's scoring opportunities will be greater than a kicker whose range starts at the 30. My league also gives beaucoup points for 50+ FGs.

The other point is that teams with ultra-efficient offenses offer more PATs. In week 1 Denver will likely be the highest scoring team by double digit points, but Prater was mediocre at best. An offense that is likely to bog down coupled with a guy whose range probably begins at the 40...yes please.

Should we just say everyone that had a good week 1?
I think that'd be easier
Lots of guys who had good weeks pretty much got drafted at their value. Just the roll of the dice decided whether I was in position to get them or not, so no regrets there.

Some other guys who had good weeks were never on my persons-of-interest lists anyway. I was never going to draft Kellen Winslow, or Brian Hartline, or Julian Edelman, so I can't very well regret that, either.

Boldin's the one guy whose ADP was low enough that I was on here championing his cause leading up to my drafts, as a guy who was probably being unfairly undervalued, based on lots of perfectly logical reasons. Couldn't pull the trigger, though. That's what leads to the regret part.

plus factor in they don't have that strong of a running game and no finisher to get the GL Td's.

For me, it's more about taking the "good values" when I'm not a huge fan of a player's talent. I do this at some point every year and always regret it.

Specifically, I have Decker & Bowe on a few teams and I'm trying to trade them but no dice.
